They already have goal line technology, which is fine. I think they should just use VAR to rescind a red and check for penalties and that’s about it. A fraction off, here and there is a giant waste of time.
VAR has become a new tool to be abused by authorities instead of becoming an effort to prevent egregious and game changing errors. I likewise believe that it should only be used to rectify clear mistakes, and the habitual intervention of VAR to force edge cases and physically imperceptible technical fouls only undermines the game (in addition to dramatically slowing the pace of the game).
Exactly. Again, where's VAR here? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rqVpXv8h3l0 Tackle above waist and blatant elbow to the face, that's 2 legit penalties.
Nike released their WC kits and, man, some of them are pretty terrible: The boys in uniform ⚪️ 🇺🇸— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) September 15, 2022 ------- I do like France's kit, though... simple, but elegant
USA's is awful. Why does Nike hate their home country so much. So many lazy and ugly designs. There hasn't been a good one since like 2010 imo. Why is the crest so big and in the middle? It looks stupid with a championship patch next to it for the women. My theory why France's is nice is because their federation put their foot down and took away Nike's design freedom, lol.
Tbh I like the away more than the home. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not crazy about it by any means, but the home kit looks like an unlicensed team in PES lol
Jerseys need to be tweaked every now and then. You don’t want the same jersey, year after year, decade after decade. For example, I’ve never understood the appeal of the sash jerseys.
True I don't mind away kits being weird so much. Agreed on the home. Well I'd like them to settle on some kind of formula the way Argentina has with the albiceleste stripes. But tweaks around red white and blue are fine I guess. My problem is they've mostly done ugly splotches or generic crap the past decade. Extremely lazy when they used to be interesting with sashes or various stripe patterns or templates. To be fair the 2018 kits were kind of cool but then they went and didn't qualify so we barely got to see them in action. Also nothing about the crest suggests soccer any more it looks like it could just be an Olympic team logo. Technically it should say USSF not USA.
Seems like Nike went all out for Portugal. Prematch. But I did chuckle at this. pic.twitter.com/VN0rWzDmXk— Out Of Context Football (@nocontextfooty) September 15, 2022 South Korea’s away is damn nice. The home has a collar, which is great. The Dutch’s home kits are nice. Poland’s, I'm get communist vibes…
Yeah those are all pretty badass, which makes me want to blame the federations as much as Nike. Perhaps USA doesn't do much but rubber stamp whatever Nike throws at them lately.
Canada does not have a new kit for the WC because nobody thought that they were going to be a qualifying team. . . maybe they should use Chile's kit since its red Watching the AmazonPrime documentary on the Argentina NT road to Qatar. . . love it and RDP is such an important part of the team
Jesus christ, someone just set up a friendly tournament in Saudi Arabia or something so the crybabies can feel included. “Rest of World Cup” with all the non-participants…
I know it’s a joke, but I honestly think that would be a fun precursor. An 8 team tourney could still feature some solid teams: Italy, Sweden, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Egypt, Nigeria, Panama, etc. And then we all get to laugh again when everyone takes their C squad except for Chile, who nonetheless abruptly loses the opening game.
I actually kind of like the USA home kit, generic as it is - the away kit is abominable though, I'm not a fan of that style (it looks like a botched tie-dye).
Atalanta Udinese Napoli(Could be first at the end of the day) Are in the top 3 of the Serie A. Quite impressive and I hope they can maintain this hot start.
Who knows. They're a very young, bipolar team that didn't show up to play today that's for sure. I think it's like 40:60 they make it out of the group. Japan's midfield was just too much for them.
Well, they got England on their group, a team that got thrashed by Hungary and lost to Italy yet again.
It's funny how big Euro teams get a pass. Currently france losing. And didn't England lose to Italy who we easily spanked. Pfftt
I guess Mbappe does not have Messi and Neymar to feed him tap-ins. This was even talked about on ESPN.
