The Hungary v Ireland game was just everything you love about football. Let's hope Scotland v Denmark is close to the drama in that game. Wales v North Macedonia will be worth keeping an eye on as well.
Not just the US but their B/C team practically. That first free kick goal was pretty awesome. And all this happening in my backyard! If they can pull this off it's a pretty solid string of results for them. Maybe Pochettino has finally figured out something.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Uruguay get a couple more and make this competitive. Aright, who is ready for some Curacao v Jamaica and Suriname v Guatemala?!
Haiti and Curacao have qualified. Amazing. But what was more amazing was that I think I saw a white Jamaican! Suriname goes to the playoffs.
I said to my friend "my wife is going to the West Indies" "Jamaica" he replied. "No, she's going of her own choice". I'll get me coat.
Missed Brazil failing to beat Tunisia yesterday, lol. Had two penalties and missed one. That was it for them. Ouch
I initially thought that the inter-continental playoffs were going to be home and away but it looks like they will take place in Mexico. Bolivia play Suriname and if they get past them, they face Iraq and the winner of that gets their ticket. On the other side, Jamaica play New Caledonia and the winner of that goes up against the Congo. I wouldn’t be shocked if Bolivia lose to either Suriname or Iraq.
Here’s the thing… Basically, their entire team was born and raised in the Netherlands. I think they’ve got one or two who were actually born in the tiny island. Still cool though that they’ll be playing at the World Cup.
Scots helped found the AFA. Alexander Hutton and company. Alec Lamont helped start the first league. Probably a descendant of the Normans many centuries ago. Alumni before they disbanded as their former pupils grew too old won quite a few championships. Now a very decent rugby club who have provided several Pumas to the national side. By the way what is the oldest football club in Argentina ? Is it Quilmes ?
That exists to this day? Yes and no, technically Gimnasia Esgrima La Plata is older but it started as a fencing club and then also became a football club. I'm only counting the "important" clubs, maybe there is a club in lower divisions or even in amateurs that is older
Ronaldo has supposedly been put on probation and they could still suspend him if he acts up again. Man if I were playing Portugal in friendlies now I'd try to wind him up and get him banned for real. Cmon USA, you play him in March, lol.
Mr.200 penalties and his fans shouldnt be talking about other players rigging a tournament. Messi has only taken 5 penalties since joining Miami compare to Cry7ng 30+ penalties at Al nassr. Also, Cry7ng has been helped plenty by FIFA. Remember when they extended the ballon vote window until Portugal played Sweden? in comparison when Messi criticized Conmebol for a bit, he was suspended.
If I remember correctly, (which to be honest honest, these days, I seldom do), Frank Ribery was going to win the Ballon d'Or that year, deservedly so, but oh no, that couldn't fly, so they changed the rules to ensure Ronaldo would win it.
The worse one was when they decided not to give Lewa the Ballon in 2020. The football was still being played, even if without crowd, so the award should still be given.
The Mesut Ozil transformation still baffles me 😮💨🏋️♂️ pic.twitter.com/qjzPy3Hm6j— Goals Side (@goalsside) November 28, 2025
, YUP! Same guy once also had Di Caprio at a table next to him and he asked for a picture he told me "Yeah, I am gonna go outside for a smoke and I'll be back and will take a pic..." and he never returned. Ahhh, the good old days.
