Well at least only lost by one. Gotta hope Bayern can run it up on Porto a bit while we run it up on Auckland
Reminds me of Esequiel Barco in that aspect. Funny thing is they are both Independiente products who moved to MLS and then to Boca/River
The only problem is that Benfica just need a draw. Bayern really has nothing to play for other than just the sake of winning.
You mean Benfica. All Boca could do is getting their job done by thrashing Auckland. Bayern like Germany usually dont hold back and loves to keeps scoring whenever they can, so maybe there's still a bit of a chance. Benfica obviously wont be a walk through the park for them. Argentina was in similar situation in WC 2018 and Croatia didnt hold back and still looking for a win in their third game.
Wow, what a game.. really impressed with Mamelodi Sundowns putting up such a fight against Dortmund Did not have this one in my books
Asian, African and naturally South American sides have been represented very nicely in this tournament. However, the Europeans have hardly traveled for this tournament. If they are, it appears to be mostly American fans who support a European side. It is kinda embarrassing to be honest.
Well when all their snobby media has been trashing the tournament since day one I'm not entirely surprised. One of them probably wins the trophy in the end but I wonder what happens if they don't, will it make them sit up and take notice or will they get even saltier and want to take their ball home? Us fans who have actually been watching are loving the entertainment value so far though
Yeah, I was listening to ESPN FC and that Scottish bozo, Burley was downplaying Botafogo’s win over PSG saying that PSG were not really up for it and the only euro side that is taking this seriously is Real Madrid. This Eurocentric mindset, particularly the British is baffling. No player out there wants to go out and get embarrassed and they’re making excuses for their lack of play.
Lol if PSG weren't up for it why did they crush Atleti 4-0? Doesn't make any sense. Just excuses. And yeah there's too many games, but we can kill the Carabao Cup and Nations League or downsize them and the problem is solved. This is way better than those tournaments
Inter are just totally snakebit. River will probably beat them too. It should be 2-0 but Watanabe totally wasted that counter.
With a win tonight, River advances. Let’s just hope they don’t embarrass the nation and lose to a Mexican side.
This tournament has been way, way better than the UEFA Nations League. Just some cracking matches, full of emotion.
The problem with nations league is that if you look at the KO stage, its literally nothing but Euro 2.0.
Chino misses a sitter. Decent first half. 0-0. Both teams had their chances but River did well as the first progressed.
I’m going to speculate that the Boca fan is from out here, while the River supporters are probably fans from back home. At least out here, I’ve been to places where Boca and River fans get along just fine—aside from some friendly banter. I mean, I do get it, that guy just wearing the Boca kit is antagonizing the fans who paid for the tickets. I don’t know. But yeah, you’re definitely asking for it. Still, it cracks me up seeing people wear jerseys from completely unrelated teams. I’ve been to matches here when the selección plays a Central American side, and I’ll see some guy rocking a Brazuca jersey. But again… Wear a Giants jersey at a Dodger game and see what happens.
