Look on the bright side, you just have to pummel the New Zealanders. Keep the game vs Munich respectable and there is still a chance. You’ll know exactly what you have to do vs Auckland.’ But when Boca went up 2-0, I said, this is far from over. In many ways, the game being held in Miami was gonna put a bit more pressure on Boca since it was basically a home game. They had to turn it on for the fans. Now, I do wonder if the players are gonna go out and party and make a fool out of themselves in South Beach. Let’s see! Of course Otamendi’s candy ads had to win the penalty and score. Scaloni is probably nodding and clapping thinking he’s doing the right thing calling him up. And seeing Chiqui Mafia sitting with Baggio and other legends. This dude had to have sold his soul to the devil.
Yeah it's basically a goal difference competition now. Maybe Benfica gets smacked harder by Bayern and doesn't score as much against Auckland.
What's even worst is that he actually scores more goals this season (8 goals) than our attackers Nico and Giu. I hope Inter and River will beat Monterrey big time.
2007 - Boca Juniors are the first South American team to score multiple goals against a European opponent in the @FIFACWC (including the previous format) since Boca Juniors themselves against Milan in the 2007 final. Flying. pic.twitter.com/fxrimAHEJY— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) June 16, 2025
So, ICE is out there rubbing their hands outside of WALMART. Boca Juniors fans have taken over a Wallmart in Miami earlier today 👌🏻🎶🎥 via @Wheddsta pic.twitter.com/hwlMIKahf5— 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 (@thecasualultra) June 16, 2025 And of course... “BOCA COPÓ MIAMI” pic.twitter.com/B8rQMjoMf0— Info Gallardista (@InfoGallardista) June 16, 2025
It's expanding next year, at the end of the day the clubs will go where the money is and there is a lot of money on offer. I've enjoyed it so far, Boca v Benfica was a cracking game.
That game was 3pm on a Monday, and Atlanta fans weren't going to watch LAFC. Heck LAFC fans didn't even know they were going to play in this until 2 weeks ago due to FIFAs random nonsense throwing out Leon last minute and taking forever to decide who would take their place and how. This tournament will always have a few duds when you have to schedule less popular teams at weird times. I think the real test are the knockouts.
Boca with a brilliant effort in the first half and controlled most of the match but let it slip through their hands courtesy of...Otamendi. He ain't going nowhere! On a more serious note, where would you say Lomonaco is currently in the pecking order behind Balerdi?
THIS IS AMAZING.Akito Watanabe travelled 4, 811 miles from Japan to watch River Plate play against Urawa Red Diamonds—residing from his home nation no less—in their opening Club World Cup game. Incredible dedication ❤️pic.twitter.com/Wf0x70OluW— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) June 17, 2025
Colidio the former Tigre player scores for River. Nice job by Mastantuono carrying the ball that led to goal.
Anyone watching River v Urawa? River playing well, dominating. South America is showing up for this tournament so far. Does Masta always play this wide?
Lol funny you say that.. River fans are having a stroke right now with how bad River is playing As for Masta, yes, Gallardo typically tends to use him wide like that on the flanks, but he’ll cut in to the middle every now and then
Lol if we have to play the rest of the tournament with Borja up front, we’re ********ed I mean Driussi is no Messi, but if you have to rely on just Colibri…
Well, it's the first match between a South American and an Asian club so you never know how things will go. But so far SA is doing well against Europe so not surprising. I liked Masta more when he moved centrally near the end of the first half.
