Oh come on, it’s a lousy Benfica.. they couldn’t even win the league or the Portuguese cup. It’s not exactly a standout squad either. I mean Otamendi is still a starter, along with a bunch of random mediocre europeans. They have Angelito, I’ll give you that, but he’ll already have his mind on Central and not getting injured before his big return to Rosario.

I actually think Boca has a chance against them. Not only will they have the “home” advantage, but the players themselves will want it way more than the Portuguese. If Merentiel is inspired, I can see Boca possibly pulling that one off.

As for Auckland, they’re semipro! I legit think there may be some better players at the local AYSO lol

    Make that 4-0.

I am looking at the highlights, the U.S. are just letting the Swiss walk into goal.

Poch doesn't seem to realize that you can't call up a bunch of MLSers, rotate several of them out after the first match for even weaker guys, and still expect them to execute your pressing concepts to perfection against a legit European squad.

@Burr I’m reading that Boca’s CB pairing for their opening CWC match will be Figal-Rojo

ok… now I can see why you were worried :ROFLMAO:

Man, both of our teams suck this year, it’s a shame. Wish this tournament happened back in 2018 when both River and Boca had squads that were stacked. Even our subs back then would kill our current starters

I read that Ayrton Costa was denied a visa. Not sure why but he was not permitted entry into the US.

Lol Chimy Avila is leaving Betis and is now saying how he is a Rosario Central fanatic and would love to join them… how convenient, right when Angelito joins. :ROFLMAO:

Haven’t kept track of Chimy, but looks like Central may be the team to watch this upcoming season. Di Maria, Campaz, and Avila together could be something very interesting

He had already been denied entry into the US a few years back when he played for Independiente. He has two cases against him: one for aggravated robbery, and the other for being an accessory to murder (his brother is accused of homicide).

To be fair, not like he’s much better than the other guys anyway..

Man, just watched the Inter Miami - Al Ahly highlights and it was Ustari vs the world… Inter Miami effing sucks lol

Ustari’s still got it, though. I always liked him since his Independiente and U-20 NT days… if it wasn’t for him, Inter Miami would have suffered an embarrassing defeat in their CWC debut

There’s also a play where Busquets and Suarez were acting like douchbags to the ref, laughing in his face and practically telling him to ******** off. Like I get it, you guys are modern day “legends”, but it was disgusting how condescending and disrespectful they were acting. Don’t really watch Inter Miami games, so for those of you who do, do they always behave like this in the MLS too? Acting like they are above the game and belittling others?

Also, how retarded is that Al Ahly player in that final counterattack in the 97th minute? Lol (8:35 in the above clip)

It was practically 4 on 2… he had a million different options to pass and just kept dribbling til they stopped him. Couldn’t believe what I saw

I thought Miami dominated the second half, they had numerous chances near the end, so ultimatelyboth teams were saved by their keepers.

And yeah both of them are assholes in MLS too.

That was both teams best chance to get 3 points so doesn't seem like anything crazy will happen in group A now.

Assuming somehow Miami managed to finished 2nd in the group, they could possibly face PSG or Atletico. Who knows if the MLS Inter would lose by smaller margin than serie A ...

At least @Burr is going to be able to celebrate some goals in Nashville!

I think even Soldano or Orsini would net a hattrick against these guys

That's the plan at least lol. Can't imagine not scoring on these guys, even with Boca's drought in tournaments lately

They really should've forced OFC to qualify via some sort of playoff instead of handing a berth to an amateur team.

I guess the Benfica v Boca will determine who goes through. Or it can be a draw and whoever pounds NZ by more goals. Boca is somewhat at a disadvantage where they will play Munich second. The German side will have something to play for and will take it seriously. But if Boca are losing by a wide margin, I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody eats a red.

The PSG-Atletico game will be played at the Rose Bowl… At noon! Good luck with the weather and it will be even hotter on the pitch . The players are gonna be suffering.

This pre-game show on TNT literally speaks for 3 minutes and they go on a 5 minute break.

And they're introducing the players one by one like it's a basketball game.

Palmeiras is causing a lot of problems for Porto. Giay for Palmeiras is not having a good game and neither is Varela.
