Maybe 5-7 years ago. Madrid was riding on some serious luck over the years. In recent times, he’s had tunnel visions with players and rotations. I think he’s past it. Now there were rumors that Klopp was interested, now that would’ve been something to think about.
Brazil was flying high in qualifier 2006, 2010, 2018, 2022. They got home adventage in 2014. Ancelotti needs at least equalled those feats to be considered as moderately successfull.
Lautaro's goal vs Saudi was cancelled because of his hand, but this worked the other way around... the hand position was ignored instead
It was not because of Lauraro’s hand that the goal was ruled out, it was because of his shoulder.. only the body parts that can legally score a goal are considered for offside purposes. Same goes for the above pic.. the Inter player’s foot is on offside in comparison to the body parts the Barca player can legally use to control the ball, hence why his knee is being used to trace the offside line and not his hand
Another problem with var which many are complaining is that the 3D graphic they used tend to differs from the real incident. Here's Oyarzabal's goal againts England, while var made correct decision, the 3D video they gave showed Oyarzabal being way behind the England's defender while he's in fact exactly on the line.
Inter absolutely collapse. But they managed to tie it in ET. Kinda nice watching a game where I am not gonna end up having a heart attack.
Glad for Lautaro & Zanetti. What a thrilling semifinal. I hope Arsenal managed to turn it around againts psg.

Now he gets a hattrick against Barca, and still lost. If Dembele or Lautaro wins Ballon, his misery would be complete.
I think that was a given. They will be a formidable opponent. But I still like our chances. I’m sure Scaloni will look to exploit areas of weakness. Their defense is not all that great either. It will be a great game if both teams are at their best. Kinda wish we played them this summer.
Agree, there are question marks on their GK, RB and ST. Even having Pedri as a 10 in the national team is questionable too. We have issues of our own with Otamendi and Molina being questionable too. I have no words on Yamal, the guy is a beast. Will be a fascinating match for sure. Hopefully the Finalissima gets scheduled soon.
True, although they entered previous 3 WC as fav but didnt make it pass group stage or round 16. I'd say this time they will be more of a real threat cause Yamal simply has that x factor. Spain possession football means their highline defense can often be exploited as we've seen how many goals Barca conceided againts Real & Inter. Spain conceided goal in every KO stage games in last year Euro.
Yeah, it's been a long time since Spain had that x factor in their attack since David Villa. This has been their achilles' heel for a long time.
Yep, Morata was fairly limited and I thought thats the reason why they looked so dull upfront despite having 80% posession.
Tbh kinda wish we didn’t play them in the Finalissima right before the WC. That will give them the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and adapt if we end up facing each other 3 months later in the WC
Totally agree. The UEFA nations league makes it so hard to schedule something and even March 2026 is not guaranteed if for whatever reason Spain does not finish 1st in the WCQ group. I could honestly see this Finalissima being the last edition with schedule being so tight.
That was the case with Germany. We faced them in 2005, 2010 & 2012 in Conf & friendlies, drew 1 & won 2 but lost when it matter in WC 2006, 2010 & 2014.
Then again, we have been beating Brazil over and over since 2019. Spain beat Germany in 2008 and 2010 tournaments. Like I said, the only downside for Spain is the fact that they've been underperfoming at every WC except in 2010.
Ustari started off OK but he sucks ass lately. One gaffe leads to a goal and he should've stopped this 2nd one. Cremaschi muffs a chance. Miami down 3-2 at the half. Absolutely laughable. Impossible to win consistently if you need to score 4 every time just to have a chance at a result.
They literally won the leagues cup that way and probably think its ok to keeps conceiding 3-5 goals per game.
