Yeah it's a quadrennial tournament. I don't know if they're filling in the other years but that would be the easiest route instead of having a whole tournament.
CWC fixture dates and locations announced.. River will be playing their second game (vs. Monterrey) in LA... yeeeee booooy. The other two will be in Seattle. @Burr I know Tampa isn't exactly next to Miami, but Boca is playing their two most important games (vs. Bayern and Benfica) in Hard Rock Stadium. Maybe take a nice quick flight there and stay for a few days (both games are only 4 days apart)? You know Boca is practically going to be the home team in Miami, which will be a huge advantage in trying to pull of the upset.
Messi is barely moving for that tournament. Miami, Atlanta and back to Miami. Here in LA also gets... Atletico v PSG are the Rose Bowl. Nice PSG v Botafogo Atletico v Botafogo. A shame that Seattle gets Inter v River. But we also get Inter v Monterrey. Very strange that all of the knockout games are out on the East Coast. Only 2 West Coast city's.
Yeah I'm gonna try to make at least one game. May even go to Nashville as I was thinking of taking a road trip there some time anyway. Would assume the knockouts are east coast because they figure it'll mostly be European teams.
Damn Botafogo got crushed 3-0 by Pachuca. The schedule did them zero favors however since they had zero rest before having to fly off to Doha. I think that's one plus about the tournament next year compared to this one.
Since City started to win trophies back in 2011 , they always had an Argentine players (Tevez, Zabaleta, Demichellis, Otamendi, Aguero, Alvarez). This is the first season since then which they have none (not counting Echeverri who hasnt play) and they finally returned to their roots.. winning just 1 of their last 10 games. If they think Otamendi was bad, they now have conceided 20 goals in last 5 weeks.
City are garbage. Garna has been completely dropped and when the manager was asked why Garna(And Rashford) were dropped completely, this was his answer. “We try to evaluate everything - training, performance, game performance, engagement with the teammates, push the teammates up. Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players, so it was my selection. Simple. I don't want to send a message (to the dressing room with this). It's simply an evaluation, and they know it. The players are really, really smart and so everybody understands my decision and I have to choose. It's just a simple selection. Of course the context is difficult - we have to win games and we have a difficult situation now. But, like I said, I pay attention to everything - the way you eat, the way you put on your clothes to go the game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I have to decide. I have a lot of players to choose (from) and today I did my choice.” Garna seems to be in the dog house. There are also rumors that leaks are happening. Some are speculating it is coming from Garnacho’s side.
Fire Pep. Ridiculous he can't figure out how to get anything out of that squad. Rodri isn't THAT important surely. I don't really get why Garnacho is in the dog house, but they won without him so he better wake up. Lisandro had an assist on the winner at least.
I know he was born and raised in Madrid and supports Real but he was a Atletico product. United poached him away. Maybe playing in La Liga could help him and Cholo can give him a good kick in the pants. I will continue to say this, he needs to put the pieces together. If not, he will be an average footballer. And yes about Pep. If this was any other manager, he would've been shown the door.
Since there's no Argentine at City right now, Pep can just stay there longer. He's once a low profile manager but has become more arrogant in past few years. Also, he dropped Kun for Gabriel Jesus
What a clown… dude has spent over £1.5 billion on transfers in Man City, but of course having one player injured makes things impossible for his team to win. Btw, they’re saying they’re going to give him another £200m for the January transfer window ——— On a side note, the insufferable Vini mocked Rayo Vallecano fans yesterday and taunted them with allusions to their relegation. But of course if anyone bites back then pobrecito, el nene solo quiere jugar a la pelota The twat is the biggest instigator and faux victim, by far the least tolerable player in the past two decades at the very least
It’s a damn shame what’s happening to Valencia right now. They are at the bottom of the table in La Liga. They once always competed to make it into Europe. Let’s also not forget the teams that were damn good in the late 90s and early 2000s. Many of our players called Valencia home. Maybe they can turn it around but it is looking quite bleak.
Luka Romero moving to Mexico (joining Cruz Azul from Milan) Well, there goes that… I guess here comes operation “Luka to the MX NT”
I think he recently said that he has not left the door closed for playing for Mexico. But I think the kid has some talent but there must be something where he pretty much stumbles wherever he goes. If I am not mistaken he was close to coming back home but that never manifested. Oh well.
