Watched Peru vs Colombia for a while.

The perucas played pretty well for around 50 minutes, then Colombia made some positive subs and Peru ran out of gas. So, last 30 were all for Colombia (yet Peru scored during that period).

Overall not an impressive showing from Colombia given the weakness of their opponent. James didn't start today but will probably start vs us (Sinisterra his replacement did nothing).
Unfortunately they carded Mina towards the end and he won't play against us (he sucks, so I was hoping he did).

That Duran boy was good in the minutes he got to play, watched him for Aston Villa and seems to be quite an aereal threat. Don't know why they keep starting that Cordoba dude as 9, doesn't seem like a player that offers much.

Just hoping we don't play some lame defensive starting XI next game. Colombia is very dangerous if you just let them have the ball (like we did for 60 minutes in the Copa final) but are not very press-resistant IMO.

I've watched the highlights of arg vs chile a few times. And everytime they did a close up on Arias face, it got me thinking.

The guy looks like a TRUE spaniard from the 17th century. conquistador lmao

Luciano Gondou scored twice for Zenit. Two games for Zenit, 4 goals.

Gondou had some heat when he played for the U-23 team for Argentina.

Chile lost to Bolivia at home, lol. Bolivia are now sitting 7th. The last time they qualified was in 94, held in the U.S.

Pretty cool for Bolivia. They looked dead in the water and come out with 6 points this window. Wouldn't mind seeing them make it.

They've won their invisible WC when they beat us 6-1. They cant top that feat. Football has been meaningless for them since.

This is the worst Brazil side that I've seen in my lifetime.

They are lucky that the WC has expanded to include more teams.

You know how terrible they're when their own legends like Ronnie and R9 prefers to watch our games. You can see R9 watching our games in Copa and Ronnie enjoying our game against Croatia.

Once again Paraguay proof to be tough match for Brazil. Historically they've beaten Brazil like 7 or 8 times in Copa America. Colombia is the team that often troubled us since 2019, even though we did win the two games that really matters.

Brazil are not even a top 10 nation in the world anymore. They have been going down hill since the Germany game. They are not even a top 3 nation in South America anymore either.

I just realized Colombia is unbeaten so far in qualifier. Granted they only draw half of their matches but they've been tough to beat under Nestor . They had victories over Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Spain. Brazil might be trash at the moment, but to beat the other 3 is still a great feat.

The next wcq match i'm curious about is colombia vs bolivia in bolivia 4,100 m

They nearly lost to peru, and had to use every advantage to squeek out an undeserved win against argentina at home.

So if he started against Iceland & Croatia, we'd have won both matches and he'd have dribbled that Croatian forward casually. We would avoided France and get the to the final.:D

I was watching the Copa Libertadores yesterday, and I saw a player I had completely forgotten about — Rodrigo Battaglia

I remember he was part of Scaloni’s first squads back in 2018, but then he suffered a knee injury around the time of the Mexico friendlies and never returned to the NT. After that injury other DMFs like Guido started getting call ups instead, and the rest is history.

Obviously he’s old and out of the NT picture now, but it was interesting to see him again. He appears to be a key player for Atletico Mineiro

I mean, if El Loco is going to be an authoritarian then so be it. I do remember many Uruguayans were celebrating his hire. Now they want to turn on him? I do not think he will quit willy-nilly. I think he'll leave whenever his chooses.

Hat-Trick for Retegui and an assist. That makes it 7 goals in the Serie A in 5 games.

Sivori, Batistuta, Diego, Higuain, Crespo, Icardi, Zanetti, Veron, Cambiasso, Milito, Dybala, Papu, Samuel, Simeone, Almeyda, Ayala, Lautaro, etc, etc… now Retegui

Imagine Serie A without Argentines.. it would be at about the level of the Bosnian league, at best

I mean even the likes of Biglia, Palacio, Spolli, Gio Simeone, and Fazio were able to make a name for themselves there. It’s too easy. The Italians really owe us for increasing the quality of their second rate league.
