If we existed in the 80s, it would look something like this ⬇️🤩 pic.twitter.com/yuliWOXxoc— Inter Miami CF (@InterMiamiCF) July 20, 2024 Messi with a mustache lol
Great series. The music used to be used here for the Saturday afternoon programme Grandstand on the BBC which covered all sorts of sports for the final football scores and look at the league tables.
🤯 We have NEVER seen this happen before! Flamengo were awarded a last minute penalty tonight after the Criciúma player kicks a second ball that was on the pitch at the current match ball the attacker is using. New rule unlocked. 🔓https://t.co/CnxLlFqA7A— The Sportsman (@TheSportsman) July 20, 2024 Venezuelan 🇻🇪 League VAR Offiside line 💀Wtf?!?! 😭 pic.twitter.com/qkg2p1isiN— Tactical Manager (@ManagerTactical) July 23, 2024 Couple funny calls, lol
I tuned into the France v USA game. Not a bad game but Henry is the manager for France and I had no idea how tatted up he is. I do not recall him being sleeved during his playing days.
France extremely fortunate not to be down in this one. Couple posts and a big save. Meanwhile US keeper blows a stoppable long range shot
I thought Mascherano was frustrating, then I tune in to River and have to see Demichelis, who makes el pelado look like Scaloni, Pep, and Gallardo all in one My god, what did I do to deserve this
It is a very German style, very methodical and boring and very vertical and the players rarely express themselves. There's no joy or beat to it compared to Gallardo's side. He's muffed up the development of the likes of Simon who looks half the player he was under El Muneco who really lived up to his surname.
His teams have no identity, no will, intent, or heart. That’s the worst part. He’s been granted the biggest budget in Argentina, has the likes of Mastantuono, Echeverri, and Ruberto at his disposal (some of the biggest youth talents which any team in South America would die to have), has had Borja being an unstoppable goalscoring machine (currently ranked 2nd top goalscorer in the world with 26 goals in 2024!), has been given the golden opportunity to play the Libertadores final at home in our fortress, has qualified to the CWC next year… I mean everything has been served on a silver platter for him and he’s throwing it all away One thing is not always playing GGG (Ganar, Gustar, y Golear), but another thing is the extreme disaster that has been Demichelis’s team — losing to Temperley, Riestra, Barracas Central, now last-place Godoy Cruz, and previously the very accessible Copa de Superliga series against a weak Boca side due to his idiotic decisions… his press statements don’t help either, such as the time he said Rondon was having a hard time adapting because “they took two months to install his TV”, or how the team had “jet stress”, or talking about vacations after losing three games straight The guy is a buffoon and the most frustrating part is that everything is set up for him to succeed. Yet Brito and Patanian are stubborn and unwilling to sack him because they want to maintain the image that we’re “a serious club with a project”, so we continue wasting our time taking a deadend road.
English player also loves to cheat, like Owen dives in both 1998 & 2002, Terry Butcher's elbow to Diego's face before HT, their winning goal in 1966. However, when it comes to handgoal, they're simply not good at it. I wonder what's Tevez's thinking there... but O'Shea was actually celebrating the goal, which proof England isnt any difference than Argentina when it comes to this.
Luckily it doesn't seem to have affected him too much. As you said there was no plan from what I saw against Lanus. The defence were bailed out by Gattoni a couple of times but there was no discernible shape or rhythm. No invention or trickery, no joy, no thought. Seeing Solari and Simon pick the ball up and not even dribble, but just hit a ball into the box wildly without thought to no effect is the sort of stuff I'd expect to see in low tier football. And so vertical too. Demichelis is the antithesis of what River should be about. He should know better as well. The sooner he is gone the better.
Martin Demichelis has been fired as River Plate coach He will take charge of his final game tomorrow against Sarmiento Given how badly they’ve been playing it’s hardly a surprise. River have a squad that should see them stroll past most teams in Argentina pic.twitter.com/rEAXCdFKNT— GOLAZO (@golazoargentino) July 27, 2024 You were saying...
