You're right Extra police deployment underway in subways to combat recent rise of crimes https://abc7ny.com/police-nypd-deployment-subways/14501311/
If you'd read the previous 20 posts they didn't spend the extra money to catch fare dodgers. They were responding to a couple of headline catching crimes and a small increase in robberies. The state funds the New York Subway, the city pays for the policing.
Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines arrested after allegedly shooting District Judge Kevin Mullins in his office.Details: https://t.co/YFIonNZo3l pic.twitter.com/TytDk5x07Q— News Channel3 Now (@newschannel3now) September 19, 2024
The county seat of Letcher County, Kentucky is Whitesburg. Not sure if this is relevant information, but I found it interesting. Letcher County, Kentucky voted 79% for Trump in 2020. Also perhaps not relevant, but also perhaps interesting. A Letcher County, Kentucky deputy sheriff received sexual favors from a woman in exchange for putting her on home detention instead of keeping her in jail. This was a couple of years ago - the deputy was fired in 2022 and put on trial and sentenced in 2023. Link I'm saying there's some dirty shit in the Letcher County, Kentucky sheriff's department. And also their county seat is called Whitesburg.
Given that it is probably pronounced similarly to the word “lecher,” it’s only surprising that their Trump support didn’t get into the 90% range.
I was looking that up, to see if this is one of those Fox News things where they put a D after the name of anyone who is accused of a crime. Here's what I found. 1) The Letcher County, Kentucky web site doesn't show the party affiliation of the county's elected officials, but this page from the 2022 general election confirms that Mickey Stines ran as a Democrat. There was a Republican in the race, and the Democrat won. In Letcher County, Kentucky, in the same election where 79% of the voters voted for Trump. (edit - oops, sorry, not the same election, since Trump was on the ballot in 2020 and Stines was on the ballot in 2022.) https://letcher.countyclerk.us/wp-c...County-2022-GENERAL-ELECTION-CANDIDATES-1.pdf 2) Wikipedia also says that there are more registered Democrats than Republicans - 8600 Democrats to 6000 Republicans. 3) Wikipedia also says that the population of Letcher County, Kentucky is 98% white. My conclusion is that there may be a bunch of old-school Democrats in Letcher County, Kentucky - it probably wasn't the civil rights act that turned them off, it was more likely when Democrats started turning against coal as a power source - and that the voters of Letcher County, Kentucky aren't incredibly partisan - good for them! They'll vote for their preferred candidate, regardless of party. However, given the demographics, I'm guessing that being white is pretty much a prerequisite for earning the majority of votes in Letcher County, Kentucky. Does this qualify as a "cletus safari"? I'm sitting here in my comfortable house in California digging up information on a small county in eastern Kentucky, a place I'm really unlikely to ever visit, where the white sheriff just shot the white judge in a town called Whitesburg. Am I in the wrong here?
You’ll never know unless you actually go to a Whitesburg diner and talk to a few locals. Until then, calling this internet junket a “Cletus Safari” is an insult to true stenographers journalists who work so hard to manage narratives generate clicks report the news.
There was some sort of sex scandal involve a deputy who the sheriff subsequently fired in 2019. The sheriff was due to give a deposition in a related civil case this coming Monday as was the deputy and the victim. The deputy may have been working in some capacity in the judge's chambers when the alleged abuse took place. The deputy says he did nothing wrong and was fired on retaliation for campaigning against the sheriff in 2018.
Think this has been discussed. What got me is the offense the two men committed was just moving into the house. The neighbor whose actions helped make this possible should be named and shamed. Calling your cop friend cause two black people has the audacity to move next door to you.
Oh I forgot the tweet. Fùck the Diddy situation y’all seen this😳 pic.twitter.com/qrVUJwEnQL— Lil Rico ⑨ (@IAmLilRico) September 19, 2024
The alleged abuse wasn't a one-off incident. It was over the course of 6 months. Also there is another theory FB rumor (Move your mouse to reveal the content) FB rumor (open) FB rumor (close) the judge knew the sheriff's daughter, biblically Of course, this is not verified
I saw a picture of the Sheriff’s family. If that’s true, it looks like the judge committed a crime. as did the Sheriff, to be sure.
it took me a moment to realize the NYPD commissioner who was just raided by the feds is the NYPD commissioner who succeeded the NYPD commissioner who was raided by the feds a few weeks ago and then resigned— Taniel (@Taniel) September 22, 2024
