Kofi Agyapong is going to Columbia from what I have been told, played with Columbus Crew U20's over the summer that won the National Championship, so I got to see him a few times. That team was loaded with talent so it was hard to judge how good he was, or if everyone around him made him really good. Great going forward does really special things on offense considering he was only 16 at the time, but not great about defending. I heard he was coming back to Columbus this summer so it will be interesting to see how much better he got at Wake Forest without playing in any games.
Tarheel fans, is there ANY scuttlebutt on the hiring process? It's been a month since he stepped down so you gotta figure an announcement is coming soon, right?
it's really odd situation. Carlos is still recruiting full throttle and in the mix for the job. Soccer alumni are pushing another alum who is an assistant. A couple others but no real big names that I know of as UNC wont be paying to bring someone in. I would have thought if they were going with Carlos it would be done already. Just wierd.
If they did want Carlos, isn't there a certain amount of due dilligence that they would have to perform? Would think they would have to do full search to cover themselves from future criticism? Since it is a state school - are there certain requirements for how long position has to be advertised?
If you're going the assistant route, why wouldn't you go with Carlos who has been there nine years and won several coaching awards over the last couple of years?
