Just think how you felt watching the world cup last summer on a flickering tube in a dark den or lamp lit pub. How badly did you want to BE at a USA game of consequence. Did you tell yourself you would never let that opportunity slide by again? Well July 12th is your chance to start backing that up! The ESC is giving you a golden opportunity to get on a bus, practically in your own backyard, and arrive safely, if not soberly, a few hours later in US Soccer Central just as surely as Suwon, Korea was one year ago for a measly 60 bucks. This is your first, best chance to see the full National Team playing for a championship since Hugh Dallas punked us out against the Germs.

The ESC is taking a loss on this venture (leasing the bus for extended hours to see the double header cost us several hundred bucks extra) to provide a great opportunity for Metrofans to see their club AND country away from home. Just look at what some Ticos are paying to get there, $125!!!, and they only wanna see one game. Our price is less than half of theirs and its two games for one to boot. A walk up ticket to this double header would cost you minimum $35 (USSF sets price for events involving the Nats) and factor in that we provide roundtrip bus for $10 if you got your money in early, and $25 after. Only way you could do this cheaper would be to hitchhike to New England folks. And if you try to swill Forties of Malt Liquor trudging along the shoulder of I-95 you ain't gonna get far before Mr Highway Patrol takes ya for a real short ride.

If you are new to this club I highly encourage you to get onboard for this away trip. You will crawl off late in the night weary, dazed, and sporting a ragged smile because you have passed over from innocent Metro bystander to full fledged Empire Supporter's Club wacko. Its easy to sign your name, part with 10 bucks, and get a card. These bus trips are almost like visiting another planet (Planet Fuxburbia). When you arrive in an unfamiliar parking lot and there are only 50 of you and thousands of them and you grab a corner of the giant Metro/ESC banner and start the march in with hostile eyes all round fixed like bayonets on you, their mouths moving but unheard because you are yelling " HELLO! HELLO! We are the Metro BOYS! " louder than you have ever heard your voice before. You will feel it and you will share the knowing look in the eyes of your red and black brethren. And then you will understand why membership has its privileges. The next time you show up in Lot 16A for a home game it will be all good and understood. To quote Joey Ramone (who was quoting from the classic movie Freaks):
" JOIN US! ". Its worth every penny and then some.

I would join (although i've yet to), but the NJB just bought a "bus" to drag our a$$es all over the east coast. So I guess I got a ride, I'll see you all there.

    Oh yeah, free BUMP TTT
