I wouldn't count on another camp. Last cycle we got one roughly around this time ahead of qualifiers roughly around the same time as they will be this year.

With that said, U.S. Soccer didn't directly say this will be the last camp before qualifying, so I guess we'll see.

Since it is at least possible that we don't get another "U20" camp before qualifying, here's everyone (I think; please correct me if wrong) who has been called in under (EDIT/clarification) the U19/2007 banner since the end of the last FIFA cycle:

    Albert Mathis
    Applewhite Christopher
    Baiera Andrew "Drew"
    Berchimas Nimfasha
    Brown Tristan
    Brunell Snyder
    Campagnolo Zackory
    Chong-Qui Dominic
    Clark Mateo
    Contreras Jaidyn
    Cupps Christopher
    De Almeida Nicholas
    De Marzi Giorgio
    Dills Marvin
    Dunham Braden
    Ellis Justin
    Gonzalez Gustavo
    Guske Colin
    Hamouda Ramiz
    Hezarkhani Aidan
    Izoita Eric
    Lane James
    Magana Jr. Jose
    McPartlin Lucas
    Miller Harbor
    Molinaro Jacob
    Morales Santiago
    Mussenden Javaun
    Perez Axel
    Pierre Neil
    Pinter Daniel
    Pita Santiago
    Pymm Jack
    Ramos Jr. Ruben
    Randell Darius
    Rizvanovich Kayne
    Robbana Omar
    Sanchez Cooper
    Shore Jonathan
    Smith Jackson
    Stokes Aidan
    Sullivan Cavan
    Swan Colton
    Torquato Joshua
    Torres Ervin
    Ukaegbu Chibuike
    Vanney Dylan
    Willey Blake

I don't see this as the "full" current pool for qualifying given a number of notable omissions and since we are still calling up eligible players who I assume will be considered into other YNT groups. It's just a starting point!

Why aren't we playing in the Toulon tournament?

I don't know exactly why the US is not at Toulon. We may or may not have been invited. Mexico, normally there, is not there this time. Canada is. Our U20s are playing older U21 teams in Bulgaria instead. They beat Georgia 1-0, and they play North Macedonia's U21s tomorrow.

Segares told me that this June camp was the last camp before U-20 World Cup qualifying. Unless they found a way to put together another one last minute, tomorrow's friendly is the final prep before U-20 qualifying.

I think you can pick what I think would be a pretty solid U20 qualifying roster that is made up entirely of domestic-based players who were born only in 2007 or 2008 and without Hall or Gozo. I'm not saying those are the rules Segares will face, but I think it's useful to add some structure since there's always more going on in the background than may be readily apparent.

Quite a few guys really impressed me today. Hamouda, Brunell, Dills, Ellis, Morales, Dunham, Guske. Made a good impression, this being the final camp/match before qualifying gets underway.

Just looked over the roster again, and I don't think Neil Pierre played at all today. Wonder if he picked up a knock?

Just for kicks I drew up a possible U20 qualifying roster.

This is NOT meant as a prediction or my preferences or even informed speculation -- basically I looked at callups and made my best guesses at how guys might be used and tried to come up with something more or less representative but with the (maybe) artificial limitations of 1) domestic only 2) 97/98 YOBs only and 3) some of the higher-profile guys unavailable.
    • GK (3): Campagnolo, Stokes, McPartlin
    • D (6): Brown, Chong-Qui, Cupps, Dunham, Miller, Pierre
    • M (6): Brunell, Guske, Morales, Sanchez, Shore, Terry
    • F (6): Adams, Berchimas, Hezarkhani, Ellis, Swan, Ramos

    Aargh!

Well, we old guys deserve one. Not that anyone should have to watch it.

When can we expect the roster to be released? First game is in about 2 weeks from now I believe.

@bshredder said in the U-20 CONCACAF Championships thread that he has heard US Soccer would like to release the roster next Tuesday, but it could be delayed by release issues.

  15. He said he wasn't involved because of school & soccer. They also asked about prediction markets (snicker).
