So far, impressed with the attacking group but less so with the holding mids. Sullivan and Carrizo real standouts. Not much to do for the defensive line, it's been mostly contested in the middle with the best chances for the USA
There's a bunch of kids on the playground behind the USA goal, foolishly ignoring the world class youth soccer going on just meters away.
Good save by Stokes off a deep turnover, and the rebound goes over. Moisa is notably struggling in possession. Sullivan has a play where he drives it to the endline and puts in a decent cross. Adams goes for the bike but just misses contact.
1st half over. I thought the USA started strong but Germany figured out a couple things. Holding mids are struggling in and out of possession. Terry is doing better than Moisa but both are getting pressed. That’s cutting off service and creating chances going the other way. Germany is also waiting to really counter until the FBs get caught further upfield then attacking the space behind. That’s isolating the CBs against the wingers. Culbreath won the penalty for Germany by isolating Cupps, beating him, and then drawing the PK on Sanders as he came to help. Sullivan and Carrizo are the guys who feel most dangerous, but Hlyut really has to capitalize on the space they’re creating. He’s had a couple moments isolated on the shoulder of the box that have come to nothing. He’s got to be decisive attacking the goal. Adams is working hard but without a more vertical winger his holdup play isn’t really effective. He’s been a decent target in the box so I’m fine with that so far. I think in terms of changes I’d like to see Albert come in for Hlyut and a different defensive midfield group.
Berchimas at least wont' be playing with them right It’s very early to say, but this could be the best youth team we have ever had. A ton of names not even in this camp who can make a difference.Jamir Johnson Tanner Rosobrough Julian Hall Nimfasha Berchimas Just to name a few. Yes, this group outplayed Argentina and Uruguay and went toe to toe to Germany U18. But hyping players or teams never goes well. Hyped players usually underperform and hyped teams disappoint. Humility and one game at a time.— Augusto Carrizo (@AugCarrizo78) September 6, 2024
true humblebrag is to have a child who is famous in his/her field and never having to mention it cuz strangers bring him/her up constantly

Putting this one here, although it wouldn't surprise me of the U-20 team got involved too Earlier this year, Bronx-born Wesley Okoduwa made the bench for Wolves in Premier League games at the age of 15. In England, he is seen as a top prospect at right back. - Last week I spoke to him about a wide range of topics. Here's the interview, for ASNhttps://t.co/5Ced2AWCYN— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) October 3, 2024
At The U17 level it appears CONCACAF is no longer planning on holding a traditional Tournament like they used to. 24 teams will take part in the final stage of qualifying, with them being divided into 8 groups of 3 and the 8 winners advancing to The World Cup in Qatar. It will be only be 2 qualifying matches and then no post group stage knockout tournament. These matches will take place between February 7th and the 16th https://www.concacaf.com/news/conca...r-region-s-u-17-men-s-and-women-s-qualifiers/
In some ways this is good. It reduces the amount of disruption to Cavan's pre-season with the Union first team next season.
I think it still hasn’t been decided if groups will be 3 or 4 teams. Article doesn’t specify how many.
Ah you are correct Our group is St. Kitts and Nevis, US Virgin Islands, and Cuba https://www.concacaf.com/under-17s-...oups-for-2025-concacaf-u-17-men-s-qualifiers/ Our games will take place in Costa Rica We open with The Virgin Islands February 10th, St Kitts on The 12th and close with Cuba on The 15th

I'm not used to seeing 2 USYNT rosters with no Chicago goalkeepers. Also, I'm not happy there's 3 Chicago area players on the U-17s and only one of them is in the Fire's academy.
David Molenda arguably could be on that '09 roster. I think he'll make it at some point. Chicago likes him a lot. More than Los I think. Also, JJ Nemo will be on the '10 roster released later this week, so the drought won't be lasting more than a day or two.
In one fell swoop the USSF picked up a 🏴U16, 🇧🇪U17, and 🇳🇱U17Barrett-Underwood, who was likely found by the USSF through American Soccer Twitter/Instagram, was Wesley Okoduwa's backup for England and now our U17s have been in contact with both https://t.co/acGFQBwrFy— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) November 7, 2024
