Next match, against Betis, is on Sunday at 21h15 local time. The other 9 La Liga matches all kickoff at the same time earlier that evening because they all impact one another. Barca v Betis is the only meaningless match now that Betis has clinched a CL spot.
Same for the players, apparently For fourth consecutive time Barcelona has lost the game following the La Liga title-winning game.
I don't know if Alaves players and fans were cheering hard for Barca in el clasico last weekend, but they should have been. Those 3 points against the Barca B team are huge to their season.
It's a real clusterf**k for relegation - no one below Getafe in 7th place(!) is safe yet. 5 points separates Real Sociedad in 8th place from Girona in 19th. Only Oviedo is sunk with 29 points. Historically 40 points was enough for salvation, but this year it looks like even 42 may not be enough. Osasuna vs. Espanyol on Sunday is especially juicy as a defeat would put more pressure on the Pericos, now on 42 points, heading into the last jornada. The other Catalan club, Girona, could beat an adrift Atletico and then face Elche in a relegation showdown for the season closer. Very doable 6 points to save themselves from the drop.
Yeah, will definitely require 40 points to survive. Maybe even as much as 42. I think the top 11 are safe. Yeah, normally a 4 point lead with 2 matches to go isn't time to relax, but not everybody will be able to get 4 points, or even 3 from their last two matches. Many of these teams are playing each other and somebody has to drop points. But those top 11 all still have a shot at European football next season, so everyone outside the top 5 and Oviedo has something to strive for.
helps that Betis already qualified for the CL , let's see if we can do it , have the feeling Flick won't rotate like last time and go with the strongest formation
Raphinha caught the GK leaning the wrong way on the FK. 1 x 0 Meaningless game, but good to finish the season with a win at home.
FT: Barcelona 3-1 Betis First club to go a full season with a perfect home record in La Liga (19-0-0) Just wish Lewy could've bagged a last goal at the Camp Nou
Yeah, just imagine when we have a full upper deck with a crowd of 100,000+ More credit to Flick for this consistency when there were probably all kinds of little issues to adjust to by moving back to the half-finished Camp Nou.
