When is scoring a bunch of goals and rotating key players not the plan? :D

When Flick does the same stoopid shyte Xavi did, which is wait until minute 78 before getting off his ass to use the fvkcing bench.

He did that vs Monaco, and it looks like he's doing it again today. Its unnecessary to expose 1st XI players to unnecessary minutes. And, in any case, the team looks flat.

    Make some fvkcing subs, Hansi.

And WTF is Pena doing a double fisted punch, with no one around him? Catch the ball!!!

His work with his gloves kinda sucks.

In seeing this match, I'm kinda done with Peña.

Hes not good with the gloves, swatting and punching the ball when he should catch it.

And the subs come on, while the team continues to try to give Alaves a goal. This second half has been a disappointment. A lack of focus, and they put on "cruise control" too early.

Commentators on my stream make a good point: the way offside is nowadays not whistled immediately but allows the play to continue really puts Flick's tactics of an aggressively high defensive line at a disadvantage because they have to keep playing...

Fermin, Gavi, Olmo should come back from injury shortly after the international break. 3 key "new signings" for the roster

11 times caught offside for Alavés is wild

meanwhile, Lewy has 2 of his 3 goals that were onside by a whisker. It's a game of inches

A shutout on the road with Eric playing the full 90 and even getting an assist is some voodoo magic shit

A good unexciting win in the end . Although Alaves could have scored a couple .

Yup, by the end of the season, this game will be forgotten.

I harp on pulling players, because it's a long season, with so many minutes to play, and there are a few nearly irreplaceable pieces of the lineup.

There's absolutely no reason why Lewandowski should be needed for 90 minutes vs Alaves. And when he's putting in his 180th minute for Poland this window, we'll be hoping he'll come back fit.

There are some tough matches ahead, where it will have to be "all hands on deck." Munchen and LPB are more important than Alaves.

Indeed, that's why I am not concerned about players getting too many minutes. Yamal is the main guy Flick needs to keep a careful eye re: his minutes. But he seems to be aware - just rested him v Osasuna and got subbed the next 2 matches.

Indeed, a level below. Alaves just didn't come out with the same intensity as Osasuna and seemed to give Barca too much respect.

I can also see that getting the first goal is going to be especially important with Flick's team. We still look dangerous when going behind but also look extremely vulnerable.

The Flick wagon is back on track. Lewy with the hat trick. Two assists from Raphinha who continues to perform well. He also has a tireless work rate. Doesn't seem to get tired. Found that Lewy's 3rd goal was a bit fortunate as he took his touch quite wide and had to contort his body a lot to get the shot off. Turned out to be perfectly place, but he lost some angle with that touch.

Only bad thing is that Madrid, with their turbulent underwhelming start, are really only 3 points behind. They've been able to keep up with very poor performances. Looking ahead at the schedule, it's gonna get tough with Sevilla, Bayern, Madrid, coming up after the international break. Good news is that Olmo is expected to be back against Sevilla.

Well, I think that the question of rotation, for me, is associated with where the depth in the roster is/is not.

I agree that getting Olmo back for a few weeks, as well as Fermin, Gavi, and FDJ will be a boost to the MF.

But, at the #9, with Guiu choosing to rot on Chelski's bench and Roque on loan, rotating Lewandowski out/another player in is key. In the back, until Araujo and Christensen return, Flick has to be mindful to keep Inigo and Cubarsi as sharp as possible.

Also, good work on your part, bringing in 2 wins. Safe flight back to the land of obesity and the supercenter Target.

Home game vs Sevilla today. Gotta get 3 points today to go into El Clascio with a 3 point lead. Lamine passed fit as mentioned midweek. Gavi and Olmo also make the squad. Let's go !!!

Last minute lineup change. Eric felt something during warm up and Fati will start. Strange decision. Why not Frenkie ???
