This is a big one. You could say the first real strong test of the season. A chance to put a stamp of approval on the progress made under Flick. It will be interesting to see how he lines up with Olmo back in the mix. Win, draw, or lose ... no red cards please. Bayern did lose to Villa but looking at the stats, they did seem to dominate the match.

This is basically the lineup I'd favored prior to Olmo being bought.

    Let's.
    Fvkcing.
    Go.

Bayern's high press is good so far.

So Flick said that Pena is going to play against Bayern today and LPB on saturday , Why the hell did we sign with Szczesny then  , or does he not have eyes to see how almost nonexistent Pena is ?

oh BTW Raphinha makes it 1-0 :D

We are going to need many goals if we are gonna play like this. No way we are not conceding like this.

They are finding the open pass out of the back too easy ... and we aren't. Just giving the ball away.

This isn't sustainable. Flick needs to do something.

Were just punting the ball long, and ceding possession too easily.

If we can't get possession, this is gonna be a blowout

A bit better after conceding the goal. But clearly lose on athleticism.

So, scoring the goal on a counter was good. But constantly trying to go route 1, and ceding possession is playing Bayern's game.

Gotta get on the ball and dictate the pace of this game.

It has gotten a bit better. Lamine has had to drop deep to help get the ball out of the back. The problem is that Bayern are as good and composed with the ball at their feet but also more athletic.
