If we don't get out of that group Ole ought to resign for failing a second year in the CL. I know they beat us on penalties in the EL but still, Villarael finished 7th and are off to a whopping 2 draws to start this year.

Also, poor Jesse Marsch having to deal with the two oily clubs...

    Pogba are sold at moment.

Henderson Dalot/AWB Varane Maguire Telles/Shaw Donny/Fred Rice or Saul/McT Sancho Bruno Ronaldo Martial/Cavani might be catty in a 4-2-3-1.

    Where is Rashford?
That is the closest thing to what we will play. Maybe Donny as back up to Bruno and Matic to Pogba.

Damn, on paper that is an impressive starting 11. This will take some getting used to.

Except for Fred in the 6 of this 4-3-3. Not a Fred hater at all but that is simply courting disaster. Until that situation is fixed, would sooner go with Mc or even Matic at a push before considering Fred in that spot: it's just not the one for him.

The squad/depth as a whole this season is still looking very sweet in most areas though overall...

Only amendments obviously are: Martial takes James's place on the left (can add Elanga in there as well since he didn't go on loan either). No Williams too since he's with Norwich right now.

Looks like United lost a behind closed doors friendly to Stoke 4-3.

Put these games? What is always happening and we just have new about it or is there a new purpose because of covid or something?

The gent in the vid speculated it was for folks not going to international duty to get some game time and test fitness. Cavani, Donny, Dalot, Mason all played.

So we had a decent preseason, but mostly fringe players played. We didn't get enough pt for some of our main guys. These games give us a chance to get some minutes for them AND some minutes for guys who are on the fringe and haven't played.

    ---

Really amazing what 3 or 4 good windows in a row can do for a team.

We have depth now and we can go into a match with a bench that features 7 full internationals. We can change shape and we can bring on a game changer in every position but CM. Yeah, we need a CM but I think we have the parts needed for success in the main. What we need more than a CM or CMs is structure and a way forward to build, especially when pressed high. I think Ole's job is done. He's got us back and if he cannot bring a trophy, we go and get someone who can.

I think Dalot might actually have a significant role to play as both a RB backup and a RW backup. He can be a chalk on boots, work hard type that we lost with DJ.

Following a delay from Adidas' distribution chain, coupled with the large demand following Ronaldo's arrival, United are facing a shortage of jersey to sell.
From Adidas' spokesperson: "We are working in tandem with United to address the exceptionally high demand from fans for our newest models, but we expect certain items to be hard to come by."

I'm pretty sure most of us agree on what the best XI for now, while Scotty & Marcus are out.

But when everyone is fit, who do you have from the start? Who do you bring off the bench when chasing a game? What about to secure a 1 goal or 2 goal lead?

Do folks think Mase is going to get 30 games this year? Where will most of his minutes come?

I doubt most of us agree on anything. Are we going 4231 or 433 to start with. Is it pp and Fred as the two in the 4231 or do we bring matic in. Some people think we should use Beek instead of Fred.

And the million dollar question of how to use CR7. Personally I think he should be used mostly as a super sub at the 60 minute mark in most games with a few starts thrown in depending on the team we are facing. Won't happen mind you but strategically over his two season contract that is the highest and best use.

Tldr: most of us can't agree on what day it is much less what you are asking

A lot of it is going to come with trial and error from Ole. There are many options to try and switch things around. There isn't a said formula or starting lineup. It all depends on the opposition.

The only given is the back four and the keeper. Everything else is up in the air from a formation side and personnel. There are ton of games to go around.

    Thanks for proving my point.

In this team that we are building the keeper to use is Henderson.

I guess no one will really argue the back four but from what I can surmise, Dean should be the keeper

Good one. I meant De Gea. Dean needs to go on loan to a top European team if he wants all the time.
