In his press conference today, Ole said that he's available for selection for tomorrow. Definitely hope he'll have the good sense to leave him on the bench. It's good that his injury was nothing serious, but regardless he could use the rest ahead of the Arsenal game (one where he will be absolutely needed).
Does it? I didn't think they showed hematomas? Edit: Googled it: bone bruising? He has to sit if he has a bone bruise right?
USWNT and Manchester United forward Tobin Heath could miss up to 3 months with an ankle injury. pic.twitter.com/Xvu3XmixBH— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) January 29, 2021 That is a long, long time to be out, with the club in the middle of a title charge. If Kristen Press can step it up (after a so so start of her United career) and fill in the gap, production wise, it would go a long way in softening the blow.
If Pogs ends up being out just for the next 3 weeks, really will not be all that bad considering the games coming up. 🗞 Paul Pogba is set to miss the FA Cup fifth round against West Ham, league games against West Brom and Newcastle, as well as both Europa League ties with Real Sociedad. He could recover for Chelsea on February 28th. #udlatest [@samuelluckhurst]— UtdDistrict (@UtdDistrict) February 8, 2021
Solskjaer on #MUFC team news for #UEL clash with Real Sociedad: “Apart from (Pogba), we have a couple of doubts or doubtful ones if they’ll be fit enough in Anthony & Scott so we’ll have to check them tomorrow. Donny & Edinson definitely not travelling. Muscle injuries.”— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) February 17, 2021 Ole confirmed in his presser that Pogs, as feared, will not be available before March at the earliest.
Solskjaer says Cavani "not yet fit" and it was too risky to play him. "Hopefully he will play on Thursday or maybe Sunday."McTominay is out after hurting his ankle v Sociedad. #MUFC— Shamoon Hafez (@ShamoonHafez) February 21, 2021
Leah Galton has suffered ankle ligament damage and will spend the next couple of months working closely with the medical team on her rehabilitation. [mu]— MU Women Xtra (@MUWomenXtra) February 22, 2021 More bad news for ladies team after losing Heath. They were the team's best 2 forwards this season, by a clear margin. Russo's imminent comeback from her injury is timely but more than ever, it's important for Press to step up big when she comes back from intl duty. She's put some top performances this past week in the SheBelieves Cup for the US, so hopefully she can transpose that to her club form next.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Edinson Cavani, Donny van de Beek & Scott McTominay still out when #MUFC host Real Sociedad tomorrow. Teenager Hannibal Mejbri out for a month just as he was pushing into the first-team set-up— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) February 24, 2021 A real shame for Hannibal. Wood did call it though (in relation to the rough treatment he's been getting) and he's someone who will need to be protected more upon his return. Hoping Cav and Donny can return soon, with some tough league fixtures ahead.
OGS expects Juan Mata to be out for 'a couple of weeks'.— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) February 26, 2021
Solskjær: "Donny [Van de Beek] trained today and he felt okay after training so hopefully [there is] no reaction. So he should be with us." #mulive [mu]— utdreport (@utdreport) February 26, 2021 With Matic and Fred as our 2 only fit midfield option currently, this is a (very) welcome boost. A sight for sore eyes indeed.
Scans show Marcus Rashford has not suffered ligament damage in his ankle. However, his ankle has ballooned with the swelling and bruising and he was having difficulty putting his weight on it on today #mulive [@TelegraphDucker]— utdreport (@utdreport) March 8, 2021
He's played every game so I'd be fine with shutting him down until after the intl break. We have Milan-H, West Ham-H Prem, Milan Away and Leicester away in the FA Cup until then.
OGS on Martial: "Whack on hip. Another scan we need to look at. Don’t think he will be ready for Sunday. Edinson not for Sunday."— Simon Stone (@sistoney67) March 11, 2021 It's looking pretty dread upfront ahead of WH Sunday. Already lost both Cav and Rash in all likelihood and now it looks like Martial will be out as well... FFS, this is not the time for this!
Solskjaer hopeful of having De Gea, Van de Beek, Cavani, Pogba + Martial back from injury for Thursday’s match against AC Milan.Would give #MUFC momentum with that kind of cavalry.— Laurie Whitwell (@lauriewhitwell) March 14, 2021 Very encouraging news ahead of our trip to Milan. Will genuinely feel good about our chances with most of these guys back (despite Milan getting some relief themselves on that front).
Solskjær: "Marcus [Rashford] had a little twinge, we couldn’t take the risk but hopefully he won’t be too bad." #mulive— utdreport (@utdreport) March 18, 2021 Rashford loves to play for England (just as he does for United), granted. But an Ole protect him in this case and not allow him to take part in England duty this time around? There is little doubt that if he were to shut it down for the next 2 weeks or keep his activity to a minimum at least, it would help him with all the ailments he's suffering of. Each manager is his own man, that is understood but there is no way SAF would have allowed him to take part in any games coming up with England. Really hope that he'll take the sensible route here: England can survive without him pretty easily during this coming round of games: Southgate has plenty of (quality) options he can go with in his stead...
Official: Mason Greenwood withdraws from the England Under-21 squad due to injury #mulive— utdreport (@utdreport) March 23, 2021 The exact nature of the injury hasn't been revealed yet: let's hope it's nothing too serious and a precautionary measure.
Bukayo Saka misses #eng v San Marino. Still at #afc having assessment on hamstring. Southgate hopes Saka will link up at Pennyhill Park later this week. Rashford #mufc not out training this morning, continuing (ankle) rehab indoors; tbh should have been rested from this squad.— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) March 24, 2021
Rash is out of England's squad for today's match vs San Marino. Marcus Rashford est absent du groupe de 23 joueurs pour affronter Saint-Marin. [@SimonPeach] #MUFC pic.twitter.com/WqaDFo7Pyq— Manchester United (@MUnitedFR) March 25, 2021 It's a start: ideally should be out of pretty much all the international games coming up...
