Sounds about right. Even more so if the team at least picks right where they left off, form wise. The opposition needs to be respected and the team fully focused, but at the same time Ole needs to turn the boys loose. If that group plays how they're supposed to, just can't see many teams that can stop them (especially considering the remaining league schedule).
Euro club competitions schedule all but finalized. https://www.skysports.com/football/...confirms-12-day-knockout-tournament-in-lisbon United are set their return match vs LASK on August 5th or 6th.
With the top 2 already decided, looking at the current league standings in the top half of the table after today's games: 3rd-Leicester (29gms/53pts), 4th-Chelsea (29/48), 5th-Manchester United (29/45), 6th-Sheffield Utd (29/44), 7th-Wolves (29/43), 8th-Spurs (29/41), 9th-Arsenal (29/40) Final table predictions from B/r... Still believe personally we will pipe Chelsea for 4th. Chelsea, like other teams, have the benefit of getting injured players back, which like us, will help with their depth. However, there are valid questions about where the goals will come from (what Abraham does there will be key) and about their defense/goalkeeping. A big key as far as United are concerned is how we do in our first 2 games vs Spurs and Sheffield: get max points there and we should be in excellent shape the rest of the way (with a pretty manageable fixtures list).. Leicester hit a rough patch prior to the league being suspended (Ndidi being in and out of the team bc he was injured really hurt them). Him being fully fit (and their squad being spared any other significant injuries) should go some way I think in helping them secure 3rd spot. Still have a few potential roads back to CL play next season open to us. But would rather we get it done by the end of the league season, no questions asked after we've secured 4th spot. Very feasible and we need to get it done. As an aside, Arsenal finishing 9th would just be...
Man City get the pub team. Frank’s Chelsea team will be motivated big-time to stop us beating them a fourth time.
It's been clear that Maguire is Ole's workhorse but I really hope he'll start sparing him at some point. Still have a long way to go and plenty of games possibly on offer (if we add the FA Cup and a possible deep EL run) Most Minutes in All Competitions:4,221 – Maguire3,831 – Lindelöf3,756 – Wan-Bissaka3,564 – Fred3,273 – James3,192 – Martial3,100 – Rashford2,707 – McTominay2,656 – Shaw2,621 – Pereira2,341 – Matic2,192 – Mata2,186 – Greenwood2,184 – Lingard1,947 – Williams https://t.co/C0Df89LsFH— UtdArena (@UtdArena) June 30, 2020
A most impressive trio. Even more so when we consider that both Rashford and Martial missed significant time thru injury and Mase is still just a kid. The future looks bright. Also, Mase has already hit his goal target this season, surely but I really would like it if he was able to reach 20. And given the number of games on offer in 3 different competitions, he should get there no problem. Would be a superb way to cap his first season in the first team.
15 senior goals is still an impressive tally for him and on current form, am very confident he'll get to 20. Pretty interesting that our front 3 has a higher output than Pool's (55 v 51). Signs of an absolute terrific attack in the making.
We got some serious squad decisions to make going into the offseason. We are gonna need to sell of some Midfielders and figure out what we are doing with others in order to create a pipeline for youth.
Apparently, Ole is not playing any kids for the rest of the season. Fatigue, or lack of match fitness seems to be setting in. Also, Fred needs some minutes. He was on a roll prior to the break, and I fear it will take him some time to get his mojo back.
Our goal of the month: no surprise there. At our very, very best 🤤This breathtaking counterattack has been crowned our Goal of the Month for June — big up, @B_Fernandes8 ❤️#MUFC @OfficialPES pic.twitter.com/PJ8pMSeZHG— Manchester United (@ManUtd) July 6, 2020
Don't know Istanbul or Copenhagen obviously, but on current form, not afraid of anyone either (even Inter) and we have to feel good about our chances to go all the way here.
