Yeah, but if we focus on the election results the testosterone levels of the Republicans on the forum go down and then they get all moody. Best to let them focus on whatever they can to avoid mass depression and hysteria (spoiler alert: wait for January).
Quite a lot of thread drift, these days. It's getting on my nerves a bit, too. But not so much I'd even consider asking to be made moderator.
It's the republicans stick their heads in the sand and try to pretend like they didn't royally mess up by manufacturing a story about Benghazi.
Maybe the discussion belongs in the Senate thread, since Benghazi seems to now function as a way to block Ambassador Rice's route to Secretary of State, which (the theory goes), would lead Obama to nominating John Kerry, which in turn would lead to Scott Brown returning to the Senate, assuming the Democrats nominate as big a loser as the woman he defeated a few years ago to get what will soon be Elizabeth Warren's seat.
If Kerry is the guy, then the Dems might have to break out Deval Patrick. Still, I don't think it'll come to that. Republicans simply won't have the energy to put on a confirmation hearing circus, and if I were Obama, I'd be all, "Go ahead Maverick, filibuster. Read the phone book on live TV." Of course, that's easy for me to say because it's not my political capital he'd be playing with.
Right, it's usually the threat that stops a bill from passing. But I say let them. Call them on their bluff and show the footage on the news.
Yertle the Turtle Mitch McConnell called this requested reform (going back to exactly how it was just a few short years ago) was nothing but a blatant big-time political power-grab unlike anything he's seen in his Senate career
GOP still doesn't have to do that. They're aloud to make the threat without following through and they can't be forced to follow through. Just saying it is enough. The main part of filibuster reform the Dems have been wanting to push through is to make the minority (heh) party go back to actually speaking endlessly.
According to 49% of Republicans, ACORN stole the 2012 election: http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/12/republicans-not-handling-election-results-well.html
This to me is nothing more than the "baa baa sheep" effect we observe in political science. And that's the technical term. Here's the colloquial term: And George is referring to the Republicans here, not PPP.
Everyone just go back to Brummie's two videos and pretend I posted them both in response to this survey. Change "this guy" to "those guys" in the Carlin clip.Thanks.
Even in the WSJ today they said that there was no evidence at all that the White House played a role in the CIA's wording.
