Tell us, enlightened one, what is so obviously fake about the Chivas jersey? It is using the exact same template as the newly-unveiled Paraguay jersey (albeit with a blue collar added on). It's more than probable that it's an actual prototype. Will the actual 2008 Goats' jersey end up looking like Paraguay's shirt? We don't know yet. But to scream that it's obviously a fake without providing any kind of explanation is pretty idiotic. The only scary thing is that you didn't realize you were one of them.

Re: New '08 MLS Team's Jerseys (pics) Black was always a primary color for the Earthquakes - their shorts were black. Now they just switched up and down. And they were in black for a couple seasons as the Clash. So it's all good - it look bad-ass and there is tradition behind it.

Aside from the Dallas pics, the others are clearly fakes - how can you think otherwise? The moment I caught sight of the first fake picture, the DCU one, I immediately thought "fake - looks too much like a polo shirt). Its so obvious its a fake - you can even see the DCU's three white horizontal lines underneath the shirt! Ugh. That said though, I WISH Columbus used the three vertical line design - with some refinement and with their logo moved to the central yellow line or "block" - placed right underneath the collar and Adidas logo, it would look perfect. When the Chivas mockup was found on eBay, people laughed and said it couldn't possibly be real b/c it was ugly. Then, Paraguay unveiled their home jerseys: Exact same 2008 adidas template.

At least these are better than the Nike WC02 disaster, where it seemed like half the nations played in their normal colors with a number in a circle on the chest. The only one that has looked truly hideous was the Rapids "Away" jersey, and if it is a legitimate mock-up would most likely be a training shirt, not a game jersey.

I'm sure some teams will be in Adidas for even longer, I believe both LA (shock!!) and RBNY have their own separate partnership deals (or something to that effect) with Adidas. DC has always been in Adidas, so they may continue on with them beyond the next seven years.

I also heard a rumor that Nike is looking to buy Addidas. Which would put the two most prominant Soccer jersey companies under the same ownership.
Re: New '08 MLS Team's Jerseys (pics) You heard wrong. That will NEVER happen. Nike just bid to buy Umbro. The MLS contract is with adidas - not Reebok. MLS will be in adidas designs for the next 7 years and probably many years beyond.
