Re: 2008 Jerseys My bad, you're absolutely right. I was actually thinking about that in reverse: teams will sometimes go white at home and force the Cowboys to wear blue on the road.
Re: 2008 Jerseys The enormous size of the KC shield makes the star above it look so teeny and insubstantial. You'd think if they were going to make the logos bigger, they'd increase the size of the stars as well. ------RM
Two year cycles. New jerseys in 2008, 2010 Chicago Dallas Columbus DC United Chivas USA Kansas City New England Salt Lake San Jose (2008 expansion) Philadelphia (2010 expansion?) New jerseys in 2009, 2011 Toronto Colorado Houston RB New York Los Angeles Seattle (2009 expansion)
Seems as if there are way too many teams with red. The chicago fire should have used the pale blue in the city's flag with a navy for their color scheme. Their 2005 third jersey was my favorite and their original (1998) away unis (all white with BLUE) were my favorite.
If they're going to call the team the Chicago Fire, then baby blue doesn't really fit. If they had named the team Chicago FC or whathaveyou, then I can see the argument for why baby blue would make sense. But that's not an argument that should take place in this thread, nor one I really give a shit about taking part in.
What I don't get is why MLS doesn't have one team with the off-color sleeve kit design ala team like Arsenal, Lens, or Aston Villa. I personally like it. Real Salt Lake used to have something similar, but I see this season that they're going to the underarm perspiration design similar to the Revolution.
Then why did your wicked retahded ass bring it up. Speaking of jerseys, are the Krafts going to fork over for an "Adult L" for Twellman this season? Or is the whole tight jersey thing just a ploy to sell game worn shirts to 12 year olds?
I agree, I was thinking that too. I don't know why Colorado hasnt done it yet. They have the same colours as Aston Villa (rapids blue is a bit more faded) but still. Aston villa colours are cool, they should definately copy.
I always thought San Jose would do something like that. I mean the ealier version of the jerseys were almost doing that. They should have stuck to it.
Even ignoring how the Fire supporters have embraced the civic flag imagery as no other side in MLS has, and reducing this pointless debate to its stupidest "Fire isn't blue" level, see above. End of discussion.
why is it when a Fire fan says anything it always has to include "as no other side in MLS has"...It could be like a new drinking game...So I was watching my dog hump on my cat from the back bedroom, (now everybody)..."as no other side in MLS has"
I am hoping, just for my own satisfaction, that Seattle goes with something similar to this for that exact reason:
They've really taken to theirs as well. But it may say something that even Fire tickets have prominent flag design elements printed on them. Kind of a silly argument, though.
This is a Nike kit, no? I sometimes wonder if it's an Adidas aversion to designing kits that look too much like the kits of thier competitiors. Brand recognition and all. MLS needs more variety in thier team's kits.
LOL....Those numbers are Navy. They just look darker in that pic. I agree about the Red though. Definitely looks better than Navy.
