They actually look almost exactly like Puma's old font...

Which is strange as Adidas makes all the fonts...

What's missing is the league seal at the bottom of each digit, but I suppose they will be there by season's start....?

It's also a bit more difficult to distinguish the "R" from the "A" with that font.

I second that, and I love how DC's shirts say "TRADITION" on top of the names....very cool.

Um, I thought that Chris Kay and/or Metrosport designed the fonts in coordination with adidas.

The font is kinda cool BUT too similar to Puma's.

Besides the puma font it also reminds me, sorta, to the 06/07 Real Madrid font.

That looks the most similar to the new MLS font.

Where & When for the New Jerseys

Anyone know when and where they're going on sale, preferably not on the MLSnet.com shop?

As an aside, I started wearing jerseys out beyond games and it gets a lot of people talking and asking about "What is a Chicago Fire?"

All I've heard is, "Before the season begins."

Wizards are having a STH "presale" for the KC jersey staring in the next few weeks. Hopefully a lot of teams will have that as well.

After looking at it again it looks more of a breed between the Puma and the Real Madrid fonts.

    The puma font.

    And the Real Madrid font.

Anyone have links/images of the alternate jerseys for the teams? For instance, I can't picture Columbus simply inverting and wearing black/yellow/black...will their other jersey just be the inverse or plain yellow? Also curious about the Revs. For DC, NY, Chivas, FCD, KC, SJ, RSL, Chicago its a given what their alternate jerseys look like...Same goes for Toronto, LA, Colorado (assuming those do not change, or change very little from last season)...So I guess pretty much just Columbus and NE.

Fans probably won't. You'll have to wait for the start of the MLS season.

What would this font look like with more than one color? I hope they'll actually have these in team colors, and not the black and white numbers all but a few teams wore for the last several years.

I suppose an all-white number would be OK on a dark jersey, but it would be nice if they could do the main number in one (team-specific) color, and the thin outline in the team's secondary color.
