  1. Nope. When you as a foreign player end up with Venezia

the top clubs think that's your level and give no second thought about you.
At Heracles (and other Dutch clubs, even in our second tier) these clubs KNOW that whatever the club's standing in the table is, young players are well managed and developed and worth keeping an eye on. That's why Atalanta bought Gosens from Heracles and Hateboer from FC Groningen. These turned into national team players for the Orange Squad and the German team.
These clubs also know coach Wormuth was one of the driving forces behind the change in talent development in Germany that lifted Germany from the pre 2000 rut they were in.
Our clubs have a reputation, from top to bottom, for development.
Bottom clubs in other leagues have non.

well it is interesting, your point.

I dont think it is so black and white, though.

certainly being at a club like fc dallas or rb salzburg or dortmund seems to magnify the attention those players get from bigger clubs. the reputation those clubs have is very useful for its players.

but performing in a league is enough on its own, as well.

do you think big clubs wouldnt swoop in for busio now??? just bc hes at venezia? i think they would all sign him tomorrow if they could.

if LDLT signed as a youth player you might be more correct. but he would be signing as a first team player ready to contribute. any player playing well in serie a will have a wealth of options regardless of club they are on, imo.

Venezia just got promoted - they do not have a reputation yet. If they stay mid table and have desirable players, they will develop a good rep. It may not be bad to be a part of that. However, it is a risk.

yeah its a risk...but player performance is the ultimate trump card. and in a league like serie a....performing well there means a lot more than performing well in ntherlands, for example. its probably why busio played for usmnt last window and ldlt didnt get called up.

  8. This Wednesday Heracles heads to Rotterdam to play the some weeks ago cancelled match against Feyenoord.

Use google translate if interested in match history:

    Eredivisie

    Woensdag,20.00 uur,inhaalduel ronde 4:
    FEYENOORD - HERACLES ALMELO -
    - Arbiter: Nijhuis

    - Heracles sloot één van de 21 eerdere
duels in De Kuip winnend af,in 2013:
    1-2.Feyenoord-spits Pellè kon na een
    kopstoot inrukken.Feyenoord won al 15
    keer.Vorig seizoen werd het 0-0.Toen
haalde Bakis (2xg) het einde niet.

    - Feyenoord is 6 duels ongeslagen en al
    4 duels zonder tegentreffer.Heracles
haalde pas 1 punt uit 6 uitduels.

    - Dessers en Linssen speelden ooit voor
    Heracles.Feyenoord-doelman Bijlow is
nog niet volledig hersteld van zijn
    coronabesmetting
    .

It sucks no fans are allowed in because of the lockdown. Players of other teams love to play here because of the ambiance created by the crowd.

It's going to be a tough test for Luca, as Feyenoord's midfield is one of the fittest of the league, some even claim the fittest.

Heracles take a 1-0 lead (surprising against the 3rd place team) but it looks as Ismail Azzaoui, one of their best players, has picked up a serious injury.

Luca could have marked the guy who scored the first Feyenoord goal, caught guarding no one briefly.

Sorry, but you are still 'off' in your under-estimation of the benefit of playing
    in Italy vs. Holland.

Busio (and even Tannerman) played well against Juve this weekend. They are all getting written up nicely in the Italian soccer magazines. They are getting on the radar of bigger clubs in Italy (and elsewhere in Europe). Because Italy is simply a bigger shop window!

You play well against Juve, Milan (2 teams), etc....you will get noticed by big, big clubs.

Holland has an excellent track record. It has had its' occasional big successes.

But, please, NO ONE in the higher/mid level Italy clubs is paying attention to Luca de la Torre at the moment the way they are paying attention to Busio (and even Tannerman).

And that is because Italy is simply a higher quality league and exposure is closer to the (eventual) target.

When Venezia sell Busio (at this rate, in summer)..... and a move to Venezia for de la Torre would absolutely great and a move which would be to 1 level higher....if not 2 levels higher for him than Holland (in every way)

  15. You really donot get the point.
As the Barcelona brass said one and a half/two years ago and the top Italian clubs also do, they WATCH all the Eredivisie clubs regularly for possible talents.
What you see with Venezia and likewise clubs, scouts come look when there's mention of someone worthwhile to look at.

If you donot get the difference, I can't help you and we better close the "discussion".

Under your definition, MLS might even qualify......look de la Torre couldn't make it at Fulham and they spend just as much time in the Championship as Prem.....he goes to a mediocre Erddivisie side which has had very very few players make the leap to a top 4 league....and this guy is not lighting it on fire either.

He'd be lucky to land at a Venezia, IMO. There is no way a top 8 club in any
of the top 4 leagues are going to take him. Tannerman would normally be a candidate for Sweden, Denmark or Holland bottom feeder (maybe these league- not certain!) and yet his reputation has grown significantly by playing in Italy.

Yeah, let's leave it at that. Thanks for your reporting of Holland goings on. Long
    live Johann Cruyff.

Apparently he played well including a goal line clearance, going the full 90.
