England and Holland National team sides true champions in 1966 and 1988 .

Sir Bobby Moore and Ruud Gullit are the only champion captains in the history of the English and Dutch teams.

I have the utmost respect for Sir Bob Moore and Ruud Gullit.. But unfortunately the Dutch and English themselves do not generally . !

Ruud the captain Gullit ... and Sir Bobby Moore !

Already did Bergkamp here (his earliest CL game is from 2004):
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/b...hties-2000-2010.2037761/page-17#post-42386482

Before this he has a 9.7 against Yugoslavia in 2000, 8.6 against South Korea in 1998, 8.5 against Denmark in 2000, 8.5 against Argentina in 1998, 8.2 against Switzerland in 1996, 8.1 vs Denmark in 1992 8.0 against Morocco in 1994. Has 8.0+ games in every tournament. Euro 2000 belongs among the best rated tournaments in the entire database, WC + Euro + Copa.

(equally good rating as Romario in the QF btw, #2 of his team behind Winter; also behind Bebeto and Branco; just pretty solid and a well taken goal)

Baggio his highest rated game in the database is a 9.2 against Nigeria (over 120 minutes), followed by a 8.4 against Bulgaria in 1994. Then another 8.4 game against Chile in 1998, 8.0 against Czechoslovakia in 1990. Also he 8.0+ games in every tournament.

Laudrup has 8.8 vs Uruguay in 1986, 8.0 against Turkey in 1996, 8.3 against Nigeria in 1998.

Okocha has a 8.5 against Italy (over 120 minutes, opposite to Baggio), 8.1 against England in 2002. That is his last rated game in the database. Speak for him that his two best games came against the two best teams (maybe Spain 1994 too?).

    -------------------------------------

My opinion is that when you take their entire career, I'd have Laudrup and Bergkamp on top of the four.

If you take the five or seven years peak (that's fairer I believe) I think it's hard to seperate Bergkamp, Laudrup, Ronaldinho and Baggio but I am leaning to the first two.

Best two years peak is Baggio and Ronaldinho I guess, but think five years (or seven years) is the most honest and meaningful timeframe.

I know many others would think otherwise and will value other characteristics or indicators but this would be my idea...

The revised figure for the 2024 semi-final had it at 7.7 million viewers. That's lower than any (de facto) semi-final since 1974... while you had then a smaller population (2nd lowest was 2004, 9 million). Not hard to understand why that is.

Positive is maybe the consolidation of the 'normalization' between Germany and the low countries in some ways and levels. But that's also a consequence of the import and export I think (see here, here, and here)....

    Primeiro Jogo - Palmeiras 1 x 1 Santos
O time santista jogou com Laércio, Feijó, Getúlio e Dalmo; Formiga e Zito; Dorval, Urubatão, Coutinho, Pelé e Pepe.

    Segundo Jogo - Palmeiras 2 x 2 Santos
No Palmeiras, o técnico Osvaldo Brandão colocou Nardo no lugar do ponteiro Géo.

    Terceiro Jogo - Palmeiras 2 x 1 Santos

Romeiro corre e chuta forte.
