    New chairman.
New manager [but same guy as chairman].
    New attitude.

    Same ole result.

2-1 to Coventry, mackems back to the bottom of the table.

You know, I think you could make some pretty decent money if you bet about $25 on Sunderland getting relegated this year.

The Stadium of Plight once again lives up to its name, as the mackems lose their home opener 0-1 to relegation buddies Birmingham.

Luckily they have 22 more opportunities to match the same amount of home league wins they had last year. 22, the same spot they now occupy in the table.

Manager/chairman Naill Quinn remarked after the game, "22nd place is exciting for us...we've finished 20th in the Premiership twice, and I wasn't aware that you could actually go lower than that. We're home again this weekend and we will see if we can build on that number."

    So which is worse?

Sunderland being horrible, but acting important with Mick in charge.

    or

Sunderland being horrible and acting like a joke with Quinn in charge.

Congratulations, Sunderland lost at home again today, this time to Plymouth, 3-2.

Three games, three losses. They really could be relegated again.

    No doubt.

Who's the last side that fell two divisions from the top in successive years?

Unless the sites I looked at were wrong, Swindon Town were relegated from the Prem in 93-94 and from the First Division in 94-95. So it's been about twelve years, and I guess we're due for another? :D

This is starting to feel like I'm rubber-necking for too long at a bad traffic accident. 3-1 at promoted Southend? And the lone goal was a 90th minute consolation?

That loss today has left Sunderland at the absolute bottom of the table. Their next league game is against West Brom, so there's definitely hope for them starting out 0-5.

Sunderland got a red card in the 4th minute of their 1st round Carling Cup match aginst Bury today. That would be last place in League 2 Bury. The score at the half is 0-0.

Sunderland lost to Bury 2-0. That would be Bury, the last place team in League 2. Bury, who is 0-4 this year, with losses to MK Dons, Chester, Shrewsbury, and Wycombe. And now with one win against Sunderland!!!!!!!

Humorously, the first Bury goalscorer got a second yellow card shortly after scoring the goal. I would guess that it might have been for celebration. So essentially he got red-carded for celebration! Funny.

And yet Bury still came back and scored a second goal to cement the win.

Seriously, just relegate these losers to League One already!

Lets all laugh at Sunderland again (2006 Edition)

Sunderland is at the bottom of the Championship table. 0-4 with a -5 goal difference in four games. So how far will they fall? League 1 or Nationwide Conference before they stop?....
