someone posted a thread about Neapolitan dialect films some weeks ago and recommened "Ciao Professore". Anyway, I tracked down a copy through ebay and it actually came from the States to the UK in 2 days. I've watched the film and made several copies for my family and I must say we've all really enjoyed it. So, to whoever it was who gave me the tip, cheers mate.
Basically it's about a Northern school teacher who accidentally gets posted to a run down, corrupt school in Naples. None of the kids attend class and all speak in the Neapolitan dialect. It's about the clash of cultures between the affluent North of Italy and the poorer South, ie Naples. Top film, get hold of it if you can.
it's a cute movie, but the best is Annarè with Gigi D'alessio LOL, Just kidding it was horrible i can't believe I watched it!! and imagine when Titanic came out Annarè actually beat it in viewers in the Campania region . I really like Il Cammorista, sorta based on the life of Raffaele Cutolo who was the head of the Cammora. You should watch it, it's purely insane!! another one I liked was Scugnizzi it shows the life of the scugnizzi in Napoli kind of a musical I'd guess you'd say but it's touching. These are all I can remember right now and they're pretty old but they're classics! if i remember any more I'll post them.
