The JH6 "retirement" thread got me thinking about this. And I know that some of these sentiments came out in that thread. But I think (in addition to the thanks to JH), it deserves a thread to acknowledge this issue. I just wanted to thank all of the mods in the DCU Forum. I think the quality of the inexchange is good and all the mods are quick to step in if they see abuse of some kind going on. Heck, that even makes it possible for "infidels" like Jacen, Haig, JonMartin, and 3rd Degree to show up with their insights. While there are a lot of passionate DCU fans and knowledgeable soccer folks who partake of this forum, I'm sure we all know that the Mods--all of you--make this community as good as it is. So...thanks to all of you.

In our defense I would like to say that we DC United mods have never and will never truncate anyone's weasel on this board.Weasel truncation may be a common occurence on other boards (I hear it is so on the Portugal board for instance) but it is not practiced here. Therefore, while the Portugal mods may be a stupidface (the singular is correct enough, thank you very much) because they practice weasel truncation the DC United mods cannot be stupidface for this reason. This is not to exclude the possibility that we aren't stupidface for other reasons. Did I mention that I like cheese?
The esteemed Vicar is actually referring to a wonderfull thread 3 years ago where a poster by the name of Hans Wvolner Fluerbach discussed at length his concerns about mods and weasels. I don't know if that thread is still archived, but it is my fav. of all time! John

I dug around in my ofc. and found a copy of the prev. mentioned stupidface thread. To my surprise the moderator in question was our good friend Seagroves on the MLS Rivalry Forum. That may have been the beginning of his ongoing slide into his more idiosyncratic and emotionally tormented posting. John

I thought of trying to repost Hans's thread as Knave suggests, but it's 7 pages long, and I don't have a scanner. Someone really should do this however, as it appears that folks continue to alude to it. John
