I have not heard any news yet, but this past weekend should be Jerry Rice's last game as a NFL player. I just wanted to say thank you.... you have given me some of the best moments in sport.
Hmmm.... I didn't know he was planning on retiring just yet. He had his lowest year production-wise I can ever recall but it had little to do with the shape he is in, IMO. If they get a good coach, I could see him staying with the Raiders, or if Owens leaves, he could return to the Niners for a final season. Tai Streets Jerry Rice Cedric Wilson Brandon Lloyd (the rookie who made THAT catch against Seattle) Not a bad list of receivers, is it?
Wednesday, January 28, 2004 News Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice, the NFL's all-time leading receiver, will play the 20th season of his illustrious career and then hang them up for good officially, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I can tell you that," Rice told the Chronicle. "That's it. This will be my last year." As for where that final season will take place, Rice remained uncertain despite the fact that initial conversations from new Oakland head coach Norv Turner indicated that he in the team's plans. "I don't know what the situation is going to hold for me right now," he said.
