can someone please link me the direct stream of the match from CBC? it wont let me do it because i am not in canada. i remeber someone posted the direct link to the match a few weeks ago and it worked great. thanks!
I can't help you but I live near Windsor and I am watching the CBC coverage on TV and it's excellent, great announcers, proffesional presentation and great crowd! the match is pretty good so far too. I wish these were the ESPN announcers.
I'm a neutral fan of MLS. I have to say that this Toronto-Chicago game has been one of the more entertaining matches I've ever seen out of MLS. The crowd, firts of all is AWESOME!! I even saw some away support for Chicago with flags and all, WELL DONE!! MLS would benefit greatly from televising as many TFC games as possible due to the crowd alone. It gives the game a more important feel. Well done to everyone in Toronto! you already have what the other MLS teams want, a full house! and from the way they're acting I feel that this wont be just a first year thing! The game itself is also very entertaining and I can see a TFC-Fire rivalry already brewing. With 2 red cards already I can't wait for the second half! this is FUN!!!
I agree. I am in Seattle and switched back and forth betwen the FSC and CBC feeds during the first half. While the FSC feed had louder atmosphere (and mics clearly located near the chicago section8, the CBC feed had a better sound and look and feel. Clearly whoever produces the CBC broadcasts follows the Premiership and european football. The match looks and feels important because of HOW it is presented. It has taken MLS 12 years to figure out how to market soccer to draw a full stadium of SOCCER fans, supporters groups and not just parents just taking their kids out for something cheap to do. I suspect it will take ESPN probably just as long before they figure out that Dave O'Brien and the way they present the game overall damages it, takes away any importance and does nothing to get people excited about coming to the stadium to watch an MLS match. BTW: the CBC stream is http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/streams/
We need both but the casual fan is much more likely to want to watch/go to a TFC match than one in say Kansas City.
I'd watch amateur kickball if it was played in front of 90,000 screaming fans. Great fan support goes an awful long way in creating a memorable sporting event/entertaining product.
