Texian Army pre-game tailgates for weekend games.

WHAT: It's a gathering for the Texian Army and anyone else who wants to join us before home games. Before weekend games we have "All You Can Eat And Drink" (until the food and drink runs out). We typically have burgers, hot dogs, and either sausage or chicken along with chips, cookies, water, soda, and beer.

WHERE: Southwest of Robertson Stadium. We're in a grassy, shaded area near the parking lot off of Scott.

HOW MUCH: $5 for TA members / $7 for non-members.

WHEN: People start getting together about three hours before home games. Food is available as soon after that as we can get the grills going and meat cooked. The tailgate will end approximately 1 hour before the game so we can clean up and everyone can get into the stadium.

SPONSOR: The Mezzanine Lounge sponsors the TA tailgate.

Mid-week games are much more casual and will generally be BYOB without food provided. No cost, of course.

    July Home Schedule

    Saturday, July 12 - SuperLiga / Atlante - game time 9:00 pm
Full tailgate starting at 6:00 pm

    Tuesday, July 15 - SuperLiga / Guadalajara - game time 9:00 pm
No official tailgate. We'll still meet at the regular spot. BYOB.

    SPECIAL NOTICE

The September 7 T.A. tailgate will be "All You Can Drink" but no food will be provided.

Things will get underway with a keg, soda, and water at around 11 am before the 2 pm start to the game. There will be a small charge for for this tailgate.

We'll be back to normal with a full tailgate for the game on September 20 against San Jose.

It is unlikely that there will be an official TA tailgate for the game on Saturday, September 20 even if we actually have the game.

What I'm hoping for is that people will bring food and drink to share. If possible we'll have some sort of grill set up so that people can cook their own food. I doubt if we'll have a keg, and even if we did we probably wouldn't have any ice for it, so bring beer if you can and we'll share.

You people put on a great tailgate for the US game last year; do you mind if an "Enemy- LA fan" joins you on 18 October?

Any one is all ways welcome to join the Angel City Brigade tailgate in LA.

That was for the USA game. This is club soccer and we don't mingle with opposing fans. If you have other people coming over for the game with you, relay the message to them also. You're not welcome if you're not wearing orange and cheering for the Dynamo.

This also goes for Dynamo fans. Don't show up to the tailgate or to section 231 with the TA wearing a Beckham jersey. You will be tossed.

The Houston Press selected the Texian Army as the "Best Fan Club" in the city! Now an L.A. fan with some friends wants to come over to the tailgate and socialize. It will be ok, the Texian Army is not a barra. The Texian Army is a fan club that has friends in other MLS fan clubs. Ask Hungryjack, he trades Texian gear with the Midnight Riders. It's all good.

Fan Clubs do indeed mix and mingle with other fan clubs here in U.S. sporting culture. There is nothing wrong with that. Don't confuse visiting folks Nobius. Rodney, you and your friends are welcome, no one is going to pick a fight with you at the tailgate. Just bring enough beer for everyone! Ha ha!

Mind you own business Celt. We don't need this petty snickering from you. Act like a grown up.

Mistakes by people were made in the past, those people have been corrected. We have a blanket policy of no mixing, ever, with opposing fans.

Just ask the Dallas fan that tried to come into the section last night. The cops grabbed him just as he was about to get his ass beat.

Maybe, but it is the way we do things.

Lock and Boner, knew you couldn't stay away to long. Old habits die hard no matter what the BS of the day is.
