In case you missed Sunday night's ESPN NFL matchup of the new Houston Texans and the ledgendary Dallas Cowboys it was a night for the ages in Texas history!
The Cowboys are regarded as the U.S. National Team for American Football, as a native Houstonian we grow up seing that and understanding why. They have the big blue Lone Star and silver helmet, they have won the Superbowl many times over and have a very large following around the U.S. and the world. Yet to many others they can NEVER be 'America's Team'. Supporters of teams like the Eagles, Giants, Redskins, 49'ers, Steelers and us old Oilers fans never accept that recognition....but it still exists.
Yet on last Sunday, my Houston Texans as the new exspansion club, geared up to play the Cowboys everyone new what this matchup signified...Texas State Football Champions and bragging rights until the two sides meet again in Dallas in 2006.
It was one of the most heroic nights I can recall (next to our Yanks beating Mexico 2-0 at the mundial last June) as the untested underdog came out and hung 7 points on the Cowboys before they even knew what hit'em!
The crowd was insane, our people charged the atmosphere into something beyond description...what was expected never happened and it was the expansion team that made Dallas look like it was playing it's first ever NFL game.

    Dallas-10
    Houston-19

Well, it didn't surprise me. Dave Campo is a pathetic donut-eating coach (fat pig). It's going to be a long season when Emmit Otter has lost two steps, and their defense is only OK, and well, I'd have Garo Yapremien as QB rather than Quincy Carter. Hell, I'd rather have Jack Klugman.

BTW this couldn't make me happier

What is McNair's primary business? Is he the sole owner or are there minority owners? How was Reliant Stadium funded?

Gaffney saw a little PT, but Billy Miller and Corey Bradford were the primary receivers.

    McNair

McNair was in the industrial energy business. He founded a company called CoGen that he built up before selling for a bundle. He's now into lots of things, just like another billionaire we all know of. He raises thoroughbreds and has been quite successful there too.

McNair is the primary owner. Chuck Watson is the 2nd largest minority owner and there are about 15 other minor owners.

Reliant Stadium, was built primarily with tax dollars from Houston/Harris County. McNair and compant and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo did put in significant amounts, but that only totaled to about a third of the total.
