Now I speak a fair bit of spanish; I can understand 75-80% of what they say during the broadcasts on telefutura

but I haven't heard them say anything about that row of girls in Texaco shirts that they keep panning over in every game. I know this isn't important, but it is bugging the hell out of me. Does anyone know what the deal is with them?

    thanks

Probably corporate giveaways to fill the seats.

More likely paid models. Hotties in sponsor logos is an event marketing favorite.

LOL...all through the tournament the cameras would pan to these young girls in Texaco shirts sitting around looking bored, doing their nails, watching their own feet....

    Texaco is an official sponsor:

"Texaco's Global Brand Manager, Alexandra Valderrama said:
'Texaco values performance and quality and is therefore proud to sponsor the Gold Cup which demonstrates top quality and outstanding human performance in the world of soccer.'"

I dunno but those Spanish stations know how to shoot a soccer game.. I love when there's a break in action the camera man just pans for pretty girls. then they do the whole - start at the feet and work your way up shot.. much better than watch replays of LD taking dives..

I thought it was a BigSoccer rule or something that you couldn't have a thread with 'girls' in the title without an accompanying pic? ;^)

Except that Telefutura misses WAY too much action on the field with three consecutive replays. Shoot, they nearly missed JOB's goal!

    relax boys,
it was probably a high-school aged club team.

what you all were thinking is just WRONG, and illegal in most states.

I'm disappointed in Texaco if they are paying those girls because they're pretty average looking. They could have done much better with a little more cash.

I'm a Texaco engineer (now called Chevron). The company Texaco doesn't exist anymore, just the namebrand for gasoline and motor oil.

    1. They must have gone to Bargain Joe's modeling agency, because the Texaco girls were extremely average.

    2. You could tell they were American fans because they were always sitting down!

They must be taking lessons from the NBA cameramen (or vice versa). The NBA playoffs are netorious for the "Boob Cam", especially when there's games in L.A.

Anyone remember the horse "Bodacious Tatas" that ran in the Meadowlands in the early 90s?

My wife walked in to the room to see me watching the Panama game last night just as the picture decided to do that slow zoom on this cute chica in the second half...pull out and zoom in again stopping on her chest before remembering that the game resumed awhile earlier.

I probably shouldn't have stopped talking and just staring at the tv, right? ;) :D

Anyone remember the early days of DC United at RFK (before Diaz Arce was shown the door) -- a group of girls like that would have received a nice beer shower! Wonder how the Honduran lads treated them last night!

I was wondering what they were wearing those shirts for too. At the Houston game I saw some walking and I wanted to ask why they were wearing them, but I didn't want to be rude.

If they give their consent, It's fine by me. We can look, but we never touched.
