Nice to see the American view of England is still intact. Cor blimey guv'nor, strike a light, apples and pears, lovely jubbly, Laaaaandaaaaan. Nobody eats bangers and mash or pork pies. Fish and chips, fair enough though. Gotta love a fatty fish.
Your beef (so to speak) should be with the restaurant as those words and menu choices come directly from their website.
Sounds like a great excuse to check otu GB Fish and Chips. It's pretty new... maybe opened 2 months ago? Just a tad south of I-25 on Broadway.
Richard's beef is that most American's view of England is from a time circa 1950 as are the menu choices. If you ask your typical Brit to name their favorite English dish they will be far more likely to say, Chicken Tikka Masala than Pork Pies, Bangers and Mash. PS: Tell Terry Cooke to come play for DC
Things slow on the DC board? I didn't ask about the genesis of his beef, I told him where to direct it. So why is a DC poster defending a Chicago poster on a Rapids board? About the menu of a freaking restaurant no less.
How odd! Having just come back from vacation in Disney World, we had lunch with a family of 5 from England at Epcot one day...they told me they couldn't wait to try the "Bangers and Mash" at the Rose and Crown, as it was their favorite. I wish I had known before hand that they weren't typical...I would not have sat with them for lunch.
It's Been around for some time now actually. Where as the Bulldog is a bar that serves some food...GB's is more like uber casual food place that seves some beer. Not vey pub-like..more cafe-like. Great food though...and WAY better prices.
I put this in the viewing party thread. This place rules when it comes to food, Its my place of choice when it comes to footy and food. The owner is a hardcore Boro fan who wants this place to become a home away from home for rapids fans. I hate the Rapids but GB's is the bomb so I hope alot of people can make it out
Easy...pre-season boredom. I'm kind of impressed that it was the Rapids FO that set this up. Sounds like a good time could be had and that someone cares about fan relationships.
geez, now you've done it. I suggest you duck down and quietly sneak back out the way you came in. Things could get ugly.
I'll start it off ... 1. We do have someone already 2. It'll be really good if we can add a second place - this place sounds like it could be a fit as opposed to 3. the other places set up by the RFO who paid to be the places.
