The biggest story in American soccer history just happened and ESPN is leading SportsCenter with Lawrence Taylor being indicted on rape. ESPN has done an outstanding job covering the World Cup but they are BLOWING IT RIGHT NOW!

They had to have a lead for that version, and the game wasn't over when the deadline arrived.

Why on earth would you think they would downplay THEIR OWN EVENT if they had any choice?

Uh, because this is America and football is king? They are acting in their own best interests.

Big deal. As if the fact the he would be indicted was ever in doubt. ESPN simply made it more newsworthy than it should have - especially after the thriller in South Africa they themselves televised. Shame on them.
