I just wanted to know about other sport teams who has its own television channel as Real Madrid has in Spain: Real Madrid Television, a channel dedicated to this football team.
The Chicago Cubs have WGN, which isn't technically the same thing (the TV station doesn't have "Cooking with Sammy Sosa" or some silly equivalent like MUTV does) but they are owned by the same parent company and WGN does televise all Cubs games.
Atlanta Braves have the same arrangement with TBS (both the team and the station are owned by Ted Turner/AOLTimeWarner). They don't have a dedicated TV channel like Man Yoo but they get pretty much all their games broadcast nationally.
Would the various RSN's that you can get on the sports package with DirecTV count? United/Freedom: CSN Metrostars/Power: MSG
Not quite a dedicated network, but CBS affiliate WBNS-TV 10 in Columbus picks up every Ohio State basketball and football game not on national television. Hell, they even carried this past "Spring Game" scrimmage for the football team.
I just thought that (besides televising the scrimmage) was normal for big schools. All UofL and UK basketball and footbal games are televised. But there aren't any top level pro franchises to compete with here. Not to imply that any UofL fans really care about football, though.
That's not uncommon with football, as it's easy to dedicate a 3-hour Saturday afternoon timeslot. Every Michigan game this year (except the spring scrimmage) was televised, either nationally on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, or locally on the ABC affiliate. Michigan basketball has never received that kind of airtime (and, judging by how bad we are this year, that may be a good thing.) Few local channels are willing to televise prime-time evening games. Michigan hockey is on Fox Sports World Detroit five or six times a year, but is never on free TV.
... as well, their sister team, the NBA's Raptors, has Raptors TV. Both channels are only available on Digital Cable or Satellite. What channel does the Montreal scum own?
