I think you are assuming CSN will carry the games. This will be my question to Steve Zack at meet the coaches night.
Bump!!! Any word on this?? On the Freedom board it is reported that their deal with CSN is done and they will televise 7 games (5 away 2 home). Let's hope United gets a better deal with that. Our logo is still on their front page so hopefully that is a sign.
Comcast will carry DCU this year. At least a dozen games. Announcement soon. (Also, live radio coverage---in English---is likely.)
I hope for more than a dozen but hopefully the Shootout will fill in most of the rest. English radio, nice!!!!
Who'd be doing the English broadcast? Dyson and the guys from "Soccer Show?" That'd be interesting...
Dear God, please, please make sure they televise THE AWAY GAMES. We all know that televising home games is counterproductive. Thank you.....Faithfully yours......Chico
Scheduling conflicts with the Orioles, etc., prevents this from always happening. It sucks, but until CSN can draw a decent ratings number for our games, that's how it's going to be.
I should do it live from La Norte. Then again, the broadcast would be two solid hours of beeps followed by the sounds of Thamlin getting dragged off. Sachin
it depends on who United is playing whether or not they will be on Shootout.. Last season, all the games against LA, Metros, NE, and San Jose were on Shootout, home and away.. 3 of the 4 Fire matches were not televised (the other was on ESPN)... Both Columbus away matches were not televised while both home matches were on Shootout.. 1 of 2 KC away matches was televised and both home games were on.. Both matches at Dallas were not televised while one home game was and one was on ESPN.. With United playing 5 matches on ESPN and 12 on CSN, in all probability about 6 matches won't be televised I'm thinking...
I think just about anybody here would settle for tape dealy. DCU used to do it in the first two seasons, but TV coverage has gotten consistently worse w/ every season. At our current pace we're due to have 5 road games not available on television. I hope I'm wrong, but this really chaps me.
What we need is for more supporters to become Neilsen Households so that we can pump up the ratings of all soccer shows and there will be more demand to show our games. -Tron
doe anyone know if they are going to show the shootout package on the dish network. i know they did last year, bu this year i dont know. anyone out there, please help. if you are getting i let me know who to contac to get it.
Someone amongst us is in the running. Then again, I don't know him personally, I only know him from these boards. Does he wish to reveal himself? He follows DC and another one of the teams I list to the left...
That would be me. Steven Goff gave me some details because I haven't heard anything from the front office. I'll be at the open practice and hopefully I can get a hold of someone to give me some information on what's going on. At this time it doesn't look like I will be doing it, which is a good thing. I was only volunteering to do the home games. If United doesn't take me, hopefully they will get someone who can cover every game. I'll be sure to let everyone know what happens.
Dish is supposed to show the Shootout again this year, but there are no details available yet on what games they will actually show.
FWIW, the Comcast SportsNet website has the April listings up and the following United games are going to be televised: 4/12 at KC 4/26 at Colorado
Excellent! Hopefully, we can get some revenge on KC for the 5-0 shellacking they laid on us in pre-season. Who knows, maybe they'll underestimate us? -Tron

Re: CSN Schedule per DC United Fifteen games. Pretty impressive, I would say, considering that we have 28 in the season and that doesn't include any ESPN2 or possible FSW games.
Re: Re: CSN Schedule per DC United 30 regular season games, actually. With the 6 on national TV, that's 21. Hopefully the shootout will have the remainder of the away games.
