http://content.usatoday.com/communi...port-fox-wins-broadcast-rights-to-world-cup/1 So looks like Telemundo has won the rights for the Spanish broadcast in the US for 2018/2022 World Cups and FOX has won the rights for English in the US. What you guys think, a long time till those come around...but Telemundo needs to get better cameras and feeds.
lol from that article,Like people care now?! Suddenly perhaps an unsettled TV landscape for MLS & US Soccer. Current deals with ESPN & NBC expire at end of '14. Will ESPN still care?
Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Pablo Ramirez gets annoying once in a while, but cannot stand Andres Cantor. What do you all think of this? Will you tune to Fox for English coverage?
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Annoying only once in a while? dude is annoying 100% of the time Univision as a whole is shit. Despierta America pre games and gordo y la flaca post game Annoying Fernando Fiore and his retarded republica deportiva bunch There is no way that Telemundo can do worse than Univision
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Agree on that. I think Telemundo will do a more professional job in showing the games than Univision did, well at least I hope they do.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Nope, you're definitely right. Didn't want to put it so abruptly, but those are my thoughts. Besides a few games, I've never really seen much of Telemundo's coverage. But having NBC/Universal backing them, I'm sure they'll do a good job
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups I'm 100% sure it will be an improvement Telemundo does a good job on leagues games imo They don't kill the sound when people in the stands yell ******** or curse. I also like the fact they have field reporters in every game And none of that corny shit that Ramirez pulls Yea Cantors voice is shot, but that's a small price to pay for not having to hear that idiot Ramirez
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups i wonder what they will do with cubavision deportes now, lol. this
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups I also think the NBC owning Telemundo we could see an improvement in the web coverage of the WC than what Univision would probably do. I remember watching ton of coverage online for the '08 Olympics on nbc's website. I loved that.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups ahh! the memories... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99WuO9vmLyE"]MEXICO 3 - COREA 1 - FRANCIA 98 (no completo) narracion original Andres Cantor y Norberto Longo (q.e.p.d) - YouTube[/ame]
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups I can see one potential problem. When Telemundo got the rights to 8 lmf teams a few years ago, they were forced to pick and choose which games they would cover since telemundo only has one channel. Heck, there is times telemundo just chooses to not air games out of nowhere. I like cantor over Pablo, but I think Univision was on the right track regarding coverage as of late by adding Hugo and showing all the lmf games they have live, regarding of conflicting scenarios such as Atlas games staring at 8: 45 pm. Univision had a pretty good coverage of Copa America too. Dunno, 7 years is a long time away so by then maybe we will have mun2 as a more serious affiliate.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Telemundo did not pay $600 million to not show the games, that won't be a problem I thik
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups I know, it's more of a oh ******** what if scenario. Telemundo did pay a ton to air the lmf teams and then found out they were too many to handle and tossed them back to the cubans. I actually like how much Univision has improved on lately regarding game coverages. If i were to take a guess, Telemundo is going to push mun2 to be more of a telemundo lite instead of a complete alternative to telemundo. Plus, nbc could pitch in and show some games on nbc or versus (I hope by then I will be able to find the channel on my listings). Defienetly a shocker though in both languages with ESPN losing rights when they finally embraced soccer. Tehir new president was actually pretty committed to grow the sport's popularity among americans Btw, I know Telemundo gets the leftovers from NBC regarding the Olympics, but their coverage is garbage. Last time they spent a long time finding Lety cu's lost family instead of showing events
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Didn't Univision/Galavision use to put the late Saturday game on tape delay? Back when Fernando Schwartz was doing them But like chomps said, they didn't pay all that money not to show all of the games Whatever, this is still like 7yrs away

Yeah if the commentators from univision are bad telemundo guys reeeally take the cake.. I hope to be back in el paso by then cuz all i get is univision here in kansas and man i really miss tv azteca
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups hmm, i was wondering about that. their world cup and copa america coverage was always excellent.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups alot can happen in the next 10 yrrs....
Is the commentator from Telemundo wack?? Is he the one that's not enthusiastic at all? Whenever Mexico scores, he says in a non-enthusiastic voice "Gol de Mexico. Goooooool. Gol de (insert player's name)."
Nope he's the one that yells Gol for like 2 hours straight [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqtGe67HmRM"]8/12/09 Mexico 2 - 1 USA GOL CASTRO - YouTube[/ame]
