I just hope Fox doesn't dumb down the coverage like they did for the 2011 CL Final for it's viewers.

This is bad. Even if their telecasts are OK, where will they put their simultaneous games on? FX? FS+ so it's even less available?

Fox Soccer is more of a niche programme, while ESPN is on every basic cable/satellite package. If you want Fox Soccer on DirecTV you're dishing out a lot of money unless you have sports package.

Plus ESPN3 - this was awesome, no longer will we have that.

So this is bad I think, will make it less available to average Americans. :/

Yeah, sad about the ESPN3 thing but the internet changes so fast that FOX might have a streaming site of their own. I think Fox is pushing for Fox Soccer Channel to have the same numbers as ESPN in terms of viewers.

This is how I see the coverage, FOX channel for the main games that will draw more viewers, Fox Soccer Channel for 2nd tiered games. Then FX or local FS channel(I have Fox Southwest) for other matches that won't garner too much interest.

I worry about Telemundo only having one outlet in the US. Univision, with Galavision and Telefutura, was able to show every game, including the final group games that were played simultaneously. Will Telemundo have that capability. As for Espn/ABC vs Fox, I do not care as I will be watching in Spanish anyway.

so this. and in philly with verizon fios I don't have telemundo in HD. does it even exist anywhere? I like the trifecta of univision, galavision and telefutura to watch multiple games or have the choice plus i think that iwas one of univisions greatest ratings so they must be hurting.

Just keep in mind that FOX has quite a bit of time to get their s**t together. The first Women's World Cup they have rights to isn't for another four years, and the 2018 WC is still 7 years away.

I'm sure by then they'll have everything just as well organized as ESPN does now.

What happens when the total corruption of "awarding" these "rights" comes to light..?? 2022 won't be held in Qatar...just will not happen.

    This, one can assume.

Besides, by 2018 online streams are probably going to be just as good as HDTV.
