I've always thought this guy was pretty good, with Barrett out is this guy worth talking to? I hear he isn't that expensive and is a California native. I also heard LA is interested.

    Discuss.

We already have that first round draft pick guy. I'd rather spend our salary cap room on a position we need.

We have Dayak, Agoos, Waibel and Robinson. 3 are central defenders, i've seen Robinson and Agoos play outside back and it wasn't pretty. I heard that Dayak has played it and played it well, even then, we have 4 non-rookies on D and a rookie prospect. I'd still like to have another experienced MLS outside back, especially if he comes cheap. As for Corrales, i'd hate to waste him on D....we are gonna need him at mid, especially if Lagos or Russell pulls a 2002 performance, or if we don't re-sign Ekelund.

    Amen to that.

Dunivant is supposed to be really good so hopefully he'll fill in nicely.

I'm betting that by the third or fourth match, Dunivant will be starting. That may be ambitious for a rookie but they drafted him with Wade's departure in mind. If you're going to groom a kid to play in the league, you have to see what he can do and you have to let him taste the action.

I also doubt the Quakes are done dealing yet. Suddenly, we have a fair amount of $$ left on the table (by Wade and Graziani. Joe and Richie may follow, though hopefully not.)

Chrono is too old. He was in New England for a long time and was surprised by the move to the Metros and then getting released. I think he's done.

    He is done.
    Just a little fact:
When the Metros auctioned everyone's old jerseys at the end of the 2002 season. The only one who bid on Ted's jerseys was someone with a username of chrono8 @ aol.com (or something like that).

Yeah, he played outside back well in the mid-90s and earlier (like on the Blackhawks in the early '90s). I wouldn't put him there now. He might still know what to do with the ball, but I'm not sure he can do it as well as before. That's a speed position and I'm pretty sure he'd get torched out wide.
One of my friends is a Revs fan who lives out in MA, and he said they were bummed when Chronopolous went to NY/NJ, but only because he was a fixture on their side. He was definitely already on the way down.

Now that we know Wade's gone, it's time for the office to sign a player (but only some vet like Chrono as a last resort). We cannot go into this season with high expectations of a rookie starting on D, at least without some kind of a backup plan.

I would rather go with Dunivant than Ted. Much more upside...

Chronopolus, could start out the season and ease Dunivant into the lineup, im not comfy with a rookie starting the season. If Chrono is cheap, why not? Wade didn't clear much cap room, he wasn't making much, he was looking to. Graz was making alot but I don't think we were footing all that bill, dallas was helping. Ekelund, Agoos and Donovan are pulling down the big $$$ and im sure Lagos isn't doing too bad either. Remember he re-signed after 2001 when he had a stellar season.
