I agree. I can also say the same for Germany. Not just the title race but the quality of football. Italy has been a more attacking league for a minute now, but the overall quality has been a lot better lately
1229135001050058752 is not a valid tweet id Really sad and disgusting on so many levels. The people in the crowd who were hurling racist abuse toward the player? That goes without saying. But the guys' own teammates showing their lack of support (or just basic understanding) by aggressively trying to keep him on the pitch, is equally reprehensible. You wonder when something will be done... 1229160658702340096 is not a valid tweet id
Didn't do any other reading aside from what is posted above. But if the player actually gave the fans the middle finger as depicted above, I'm pretty sure he is going to get fined for it. Unfortunately.
i'd forgotten KdB's age. he would be another with Agüero that light likely leave. maybe Walker? don't see who wants him though but he is 30 or thereabouts
The sad thing about all this is, i don't have a single friend who is a City fan, that i can rib about this...[emoji852]
I'm not gonna say shit until the ban is upheld. I just can't imagine UEFA actually growing a spine and sticking to those findings. They'll cave.
probably for the best. no one really believes it will happen anyway. the only city fan i know is a guy literally from Abu Dhabi. i don't even see the jerseys about the place. not even Agüero or De Bruyne. nothing. have never seen a local supporters club anywhere either. that's why this supposed massive commercial reach they are developing is questionable to me
This really is FFP's last chance to matter. It's a pivotal moment in footballing history either way, and there'll be a ********ton of thinkpieces about how the Liverpool way has beaten the City model etc etc, as well as how Wolves and Sheff Utd will finish above us, potentially above Chelsea and Spurs too.
Agree that UEFA could finally get themselves taken seriously by sticking the charges. But I still think there's enough corruption that certain people will get paid off and will make it go away or lessen it to the point that it only has a small effect.
I think people are missing the point on some of this. City aren't charged with FFP violations. They are charged with breach of trust. Ie...trying to cover up details during the original in investigation. Covering up a crime is often more serious of an offence than the initial crime.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...re-not-the-sort-to-take-punishment-lying-down Gary Neville has mentioned as much but it's clear that City are going to oppose their ban hard. Let's hope that CAS for starters will grow a spine: reality is that they'll probably end up reducing the sentence (probably by a year). What happens then is what could become real interesting, if City decide to take this all the way to court, which they are likely to do if they don't get a favorable result in the previous proceedings. They'll come to fight and it could be a nasty one. Sidenote, this all should be a stark reminder that we (ie Manchester United) should want NOTHING to do with the idea of Saudi ownership and someone like MBS. It's certainly no great shakes under the current regime of the Glazers but I can accept/tolerate them much easier (albeit reluctantly) than I ever could MBS.
Pretty significant blow for Spurs, especially since they're already missing Kane and Son was trusted to carry a big part of the goalscoring load in his stead.
4 weeks is still a long time for Spurs to go without a reliable goalscorer. They better hope that many of their players, starting with Moura and Alli, step it up big time in that time period to pick up the slack.
Lol its just a broken arm though. There has to be another injury or something. You can play while healing from a broken arm.
Son may be out for the remainder of the season or he may not. But the main point of note is that it is Mourinho who is pushing the story he won't come back and not the club. And we all know about his penchant for the dramatic. At the very least, it's easy to think he's pushing that narrative for one reason or another. Maybe it's some kind of motivational tool where he hopes to galvanize the rest of the team. Or maybe, it's a ready made excuse if things don't go well in the coming weeks. The truth is you never know with Mourinho, except that there is usually a reason for pretty much anything he says.
Diego Costa on the bench all fired up for Atleti. Let's see what they can do today. Great start from Atleti and Saul opens the score. Vamos!
