Sterling had run his course at City and he's been shit with Chelski - the mileage on his legs has started to show from playing PL regularly since 17. Cancelo looks as bad as Fabinho - but his move is a bust-up with Pep.
Torres is somewhat overrated and Sterling was always rated too highly (although he suited City - a team where anyone he could manage to pass the ball to after his speed running would likely be able to capitalize on receiving it)
Sterling is showing wear, for sure... but I don't know how much anyone should really take from performance under this Chelsea regime. It's a mess over there.
What would you rather have? LFC with Klopp and the ownership who has seemingly lost interest or... Chel$ea with a boatload of new players and a bottomless pit of cash, but also a seemingly rudderless ship ???
Forest going head to head with Chelsea for the most signings in the world this season. Nottingham Forest and PSG have full verbal agreement on Keylor Navas deal but still waiting on documents and all paperwork .
and he's gone for something like $17m...seems "affordable" (compared to the $125m or whatever we're lining up for Bellingham) I get that Jorginho is a putz, and may not "fit" into our system...but surely there must be someone other than Arthur who would fit that mold???
And................another Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of defender Felipe from Atlético Madrid
When Chelsea first dished out one of these long term contract there should have been imidiate action taken to stop this. Instead they just let them continue and then put rules in place in the future when Chelsea don't need any more signings so nobody else can use the loophole
Wait a minute - more midfielders were signed?!? get the ******** outta here with that nonsense! there aren’t any available! we should know.
Hopefully some of those 8+ year contracts is a Winston Bogarde. You are paying me this much why would I care if I play or not and I am definitely seeing out my contract
Chelsea have this new thing of signing everyone long in the hope of high selling fees coming back later on. Others (clubs, and spokespeople including Jurgen) were sort of arguing against it (but that seems to me more out of self-interest than fairness). I'm surprised more teams haven't tried this tack before - but if others go for it, it's gonna start to mess with financial models soon, as its going to be very hard for most teams to factor in continued success over a long period and pay all its stars a huge rate long term....... So - to the bad - the more insistent need for a bloodless, soulless, NFL-style "Super-league" so the big boys stay big in this new environment. To the possible good - it is clubs taking power back somewhat from these player's blood-leech-agents though, so that's to the good... I think.
That is the flip side of this coin that we haven't seen land yet..... it will be funny. How much (for example) are they paying Raheem to watch Murdryk??
https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...1bn-for-first-time-in-january-transfer-window The league that lets Barcelona and Real Madrid do whatever they want is mad about the amount of money Premier League clubs just spent in the January window.
And also André Ayew to Nottingham Forest. Agreement completed now on a six month deal. 30th signing this season?
Interesting though - N Forest have signed 30 players (!) this season, but looking at their signings, they are still significantly behind Chel$ea in money spent...
Anyone want to guess which old stadium this is? Goodison in the 30s/40s. But I suppose it was a trick question given how full it was back then, especially compared to now; so you’d be forgiven for not getting it right.
Yeah - so, following up on my thread above...Nott'm Forest have spent 164.55million (pounds - I don't know how to type the symbol) on 30 players this season - according to a recent ESPN article... Chel$ea haș spent close to 300 million on eight players in the January window - including 106 million on Enzo Fernandez alone...and Dortmund is expecting at least that much for Jude Bellingham next summer... Can we all say "value for money"? That is CRAZY!
