Just watching Sky News talking their way though the penalty shootout at the ANC final. I'm watching them, watching the match on their monitor, telling me the score. How weird! Anyway it went to 9 PK's each and the Ivory Coast crapped out. Drogba missed a PK badly with a chance to give Ivory the win in regular time but converted, taking the 5th for Ivory in the shootout, then the Zambia keeper evened it up. Toure, (the other one?!) missed his shot for the 8th but so did the Zambia player, the 9th did it. Zambia are Champions. That's just the first coupla shots, but you know where to look..
DeMarcus Beasley playing well for Puebla. And Luis Garcia (he drinks sangria) scores the second of the game as Puebla beats Pumas 0-2.
Glasgow Rangers go into Administration! That's massive news. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2609694
wow! with the 9-point deduction, this guarantees they finish second in the SPL... that will be rough compared to their usual finish of... uh... second...
The FA is also reserving judgement on disciplinary action over Saturday's half-time tunnel melee. If it features in the extraordinary incident section of referee Phil Dowd's report, which will reach Wembley today, the FA will speak to police, stewards and other witnesses before considering any The Independent (I think) Wouldn't it be nice if Mr. Referee makes a very negative report about Evra? Do you think that the FA would hide it or act on it? hmmm
Im not calling you a liar. Though I do wish I had a type-written transcript of my Uruguayo friend trying to explain in spanish (and english) to his approx 70 year old mother the Evra/Suarez complaint. She couldnt get her mind around what Luis said as being wrong. She lives in the US now, but is from Montevideo. Shes not a racist. Uruguay is the oldest (and first) democracy in South America -- and locals will tell you it doesnt have a history except for its football. Its never been a world power. It even sits in the trade shadow of Argentina within MERCOSUR. Its literally a world apart from the imperial nations of france and England, where Suarez was judged a villian. (An Uruguayan taking alleged ethnic shots at a Frechman... oh my). I dont think there's any debating that the collective stump preachers' rush to outrage over Evra/Suarez is flat out wrong. I say, Garra Charrua, Luis, and look out to those who get in your way. Dont be a stump preacher.
Something that has flown under the radar is that Portsmouth are going into administration as well (reported today along with the Rangers news). The deduction drops them into the Championship relegation spots.
That's exactly what I said. Here's the story: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-and-face-points-penalty-for-second-time.html
I completely missed the Pompey story. That is big news. The Rangers and Portsmouth stories are actually proper stories too, rather than the handshake issue.
I just think it's hilarious (in a dark comedy sort of way) that Portsmouth is so unfortunate that, even though they are going through administration for the second time in two or three years, no one cares because Rangers did it the same day.
What's hilarious is that despite their 10 point deduction, Rangers are still in second by NINE points The Scottish league blows
Jen Chang is reporting, that France Football is reporting, that Eden Hazard has agreed personal terms with Spurs, but Spurs have not yet agreed a fee with Lille. ****.
Yep, if so, that sucks. Bale, Lennon, VdV and Hazard as four players for the two wide spots and the second-striker role gives them pretty ********ing good possibilities.
Spurs made an offer of about 16 million but LeArse got him, now there's talk of him going back to Zenit St. Petersburg, where he came from.
So how do you transfer outside the window? I presume this is for next year. But if he is still under contract next year to Lille he can only move if they sell him.
