last I saw him in training was in the week long camp after the season ended. He is looking better; running, tackling, taking on players... He is only about 45% fit... but flashes of wonderful stuff are there... he will have to train long and hard on fitness this offseason. But I (not being a docotr of course) expect him to be 100% by opening day.
burn contract status and questions Hopefully, now that the league has signed 2 of its 3 poster boys (Donovan and McBride, for those living under a rock) their negotiators can now spare some time for the Burn and our out of contract coach and players. Couple questions/comments for those in the know: 1)i'd ready that before bradley at least, metros were interested in Zarco. Anyone know if they still are? They've got a couple 1st rounders and an allocation that might be useful. 2)is Jordan still in Belgium? Is he coming or going? 3)speaking of Jordan, what makes you more nervous about 2003: the ever-inconsistent Jordan starting or the totally unproven in MLS Countess starting? 4)Does Stone make Zarco totally expendable?
Actually it's Suarez, Gbandi, Morrow, Broome, Bonseau and especially Cerritos that make Zarco totally expendable. But yes, Stone as a potential backup for Deering in midfield seals the deal. I feel quite confident that Zarco's cap value will be reclaimed by next season. It's a shame as I enjoyed his play, especially his ice-cold precision on the PK, but his salary figure will make him a cap casualty.
