But, oddly, does the team need Fischer?! Was the team better without her at the Olympics?!

Sounds heretical to say it, but players do age. Except in America (ha-ha)

So you don't think of her as one of the Starting XI for Sweden anymore.

In the US, we would be holding open a spot for her, the coach giving breathless updates on her return to fitness. I think the US still needs, as Megan Rapinoe put it, a kick in the teeth. Or as David Bowie might've put it, the Not-So-Young-Americans still need a good old-fashioned sock-in-the-jaw.

Hard to say, it will depend on current form and what Gerhardsson think is needed for the match at hand. But I do not think she have a starting spot guaranteed, but will probably start in some possibly most.

Sweden’s replacement was a very agile Amanda Ilestedt who can play either CB or FB equally as good. Another cool thing about her is she’s usually on top ten lists of the sexiest looking players around!

But got to ask Swedes why their own league keeps giving up their best players ala Rosengard(who looked atrociously bad in their last CL game vs the part amateur club, Hoffenheim). Do you feel they might become better players in like the WSL? Or are the clubs in desperate financial trouble?

But in an way, Holland’s proving you don’t need an good professional league to have an top national team

Possibly, and in the long run yes. IOW the current batch may or many not have a better chance to develop in WSL or Bundesliga etc but if the current development continues (which is likely) there will be no doubt about that in a few years.
No. But they do what Swedish Men clubs do, sell when the price is right since it is rarely worth keeping a disgruntled player for ½ a season when you can get some good money for her (or him for the male counterparts). And may if the price is right be worth it even if there are longer left on the contract, unless the player are vital.

About the process to replace the "older" players in our WNT,
Seems like at least two of the three (Lindahl and Fischer) talked it over with Gerhardsson after the Olympics and offered to step down if he wanted to take in younger talents (I suspect Seger also did that but the interview I read today was with Fischer and the one a few days back with Lindahl). He told them that age itself is not a factor and that he want them in as long as they where the best option, then he made sure they where had no problem with not starting or even not playing if and when he thinks other options are better.

was there any kind of criticism of Sweden’s last game performance?(1-0 over #45 ranked Slovakia)

and yeah, heard of the earth shattering event happening in your country …..the ABBA reunion! Though I preferably enjoyed more the performance of an imitation group I saw at an local casino….the would be Agnatha & Frieda looked like they were still in their twenties!

Some, but not much. Mostly like "they have to do better" or "No need for Panic, just yet.".
Well, as I understand it so will they as ABBAtars :)
