    ... mod's note ...

This is off-topic for the FIFA and Tournaments board.
Moved to The Beautiful Game board.

  3. Re: ... mod's note ...

and what about ivan ramiro cordoba? or luis amaranto perea? or mario yepes?

calero is much better than tim howard any day having only 3 goals against him in 7 games

and in forwards how can oyu put chevanton before jaun pablo angel ?? franklin salas before geovanni hernandez or tottono grisales? Javier Zanetti before fabian vargas, john restrepo, jairo patino, john viafara, andres perez?

both Samuel and Roberto Carlos are playing subpar futbol (when compared to their own high standards)...And Tim Howard cannot possibly belong if he is not even getting first team futbol.....

So Dida sits behind Tim Howard?

  7. dida isnt even better than calero in the wcq he has one goal average per game taken 13 goals in 13 games

calero has taken 3 in 7 and is top of the chart obviously

ivan ramiro cordoba, mario yepes, and luis amaranto perea are all class defenders who kept brazils ronaldo and adriano from scoring goals at their own home and all three are potent goal scorers themselves

the best defense in the world and americas is by far colombias the best goalkeeper in south america wcq is by far calero

I included Cordoba, despite him being in a crap Inter defence. It was a tough decision and one that I will probably live to regret, so shut it. :D

To state that Zanetti is over the hill. well sir, you know NOTHING..

Howard is there because this is NOT a thread devoted to the absolute team, it's the one that feels right to the poster... At this point in time in the WHOLE AMERICAS no one has the skills of Tim Howard. Not el Pato, not Villar, and NOT CALERO...

Roberto Carlos, and Samuel are there because we'll give them 2 months and you'll see.

Franklin Salas in the jewel of Latin American soccer, he is playing very very well. And is on his way to bigger and better things.

As for Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, it's a back line of 3, sorry he got the cut. yepes, not enough for team of the Americas. Giovanny Hernandez, you mean the Alvaro Recoba of colombia???? no thank you. and Jairo Patino, oh yes the River Plate bust, please I've seen enough of Jairo to say he's NOT good enough at River....

dida is a better gk than howard no question about that

in my opion f salas is not good enough yet

  16. tim howard has no talent he palys in concacaf he sucks

geovanni hernandez is the valderama of colombia

cordoba whos goal won a copa america for crying out loud is the best defense in south america and hes a constant good player for inter you have no taste and no mind the man stopped ronaldo from scoring goals all argentinas great defenses did were give the man 3 penaltys

i think the fact that he has a STELAR defense infront of him affects this tally also. one of the best defensive lines in the americas.

as much as i hate tim howard, i would put him as keeper also

i thought valderama was the valderama of colombia
and hernandez is just a cheap version
carlos gamarra also stopped ronaldo from scoring so did the ecuatorian defence, i put him in my team
but come on stop being so biased :D

    Zanetti-----Alex-----Ayala----Sorin
    --------Mascherano
    Juninho----------Ze Roberto
    ------Aimar------Ronaldinho
    ------------Adriano

    Bench:
    Kaka
    Tevez
    Pizarro
    Heinze
    Emerson
No keeper comes to mind who's better than others.

Sorin gets the nod at LB because he plays better for Argentina than for his clubs. Heinze is versatile, so he gets to be a sub. Aimar vs. Kaka was a tossup. I'm also not entirely sold on Mascherano, but the other CMs in South America don't inspire too much confidence in me. Emerson would be the alternative.
I see no reason to play anyone over Juninho and Ze Roberto.

Ah - should have specified. David. I really like his play. He IS Chile's team at the moment, imho.

Ah yes - the team that's out of the qualification spots in CONMEBOL CLEARLY has the best players. Except on game days. Colombia has some nice players, but none I'd put in this team.
