As the season has ended, it's time for a new news thread.

I think we can strike off two players
Stuttgart seems pretty sure that Mane is staying
Avdijaj apparently has a major problem between his ears: https://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/...iefe-Fall-von-Schalkes-49-Millionen-Mann.html... we both know Eberl is never gonna sign him ;-)
I do not believe in Onyekuru either
Cerny looks interesting but Ajax is in a much better situation right now than in the last years [there was an amusing Dolberg-Borussia-rumor, too!]... maybe we can bring our 20%-Younes-share into play...

yepp! lively & jolly! ready to fuss and fight! definitely able to perform a swift walk without cries of pain
but given our history the last months... nothing is forever...
however quite mobile physically (given his height) and mentally as far as I know
but don't get too excited: he surely wouldn't be able to seperate himself from Christensen if Raffa sends him with a through pass

    I have also been wondering...

don't worry TERODDE apparently is out
so the road is wide wide open for Larin! (I'm just saying... I have no information at all)
but now I'm the one who's gonna cry if he isn't a quick finisher
according to RP attack is not the priority, the sole forward on the to-do-list seems to be expected as an bench-option only

Well, the coach there is digging in his feet and refusing to sell, but MLS doesn't operate like Europe,(thank God) and the decision isn't solely down to him. If the right offer comes, he goes....but "the right offer" over here doesn't scratch the surface of what it entails over there.......

Agreed about Mane being unlikely; but I actually think moving to a small quiet town would be great for Avdijaj, especially with BMG's track record for developing talent. Dunno if Eberl would pull the trigger, but he brought in Kruse and Avdijaj could be a great value buy.

I don't believe in Onyekuru either, but he's a name you've been linked to that would've been a really sweet fit.

As for Cerny, he's kinda blocked at Ajax with Kluivert's kid jumping ahead of him, Younes solidifying a starting spot, and David Neres also ahead of him in the food chain; Younes being the oldest of this bunch at 23. Now Kluivert will be sold to a bigger club at some point, but he's not there yet.

I'm still praying for Fekir, Lyon could be selling a lot of players this summer and Fekir is just about the perfect Raffael successor who could also contribute in the wide areas when Stindl & Raffael are both fit & you're not playing with a forward trident.

I guess I'm just far from convinced by Grifo...other than by his gifted right foot. His dribbling's unimpressive, his pace unspectacular, and he dwaddles on the ball when quicker decisions can be made. At least he's grown against the ball, which makes me wonder if he couldn't do more in a midfield role next to Benes & Kramer...kinda like I thought Arrango should have been tried in.

    - a question mark began forming in my battered mind but Grifo finally is in (he knows Hofmann, Johnson, Vestergaard and Strobl from Hoffenheim; I especially like how he has worked his way up in the lower leagues)

    - EPL-Hazard-rumors but Hazard repeatedly told he‘s planning to stay (his season was quite well I would say but his talent stirred up my expectations to more than that I have to admit)… he apparently believes Borussia is the best choice to enter the Belgian WC-squad

    - the club is looking for an additional & experienced „top-level“ employee for the medical area

    - a special coach for talented youngsters is to be hired

it‘s not about signing streamlined players (the club showed how to handle more than one nightlife-connaisseur etc in the past) but there are red lines… especially when you are acting grossly negligent/inconsiderate towards others (to put it mildly)
that‘s why I can‘t go along with your Kruse analogy:
    a) Kruse‘s style is not driving hit and run, it‘s leaving thousands of poker money in a taxi… a totally different style! much more amusing and less dangerous!
    b) Kruse is extra-smart

thanks for the detailed information, it's a long time ago since I was that close to the dutch league... my thinking was more like 'ajax-is-losing-offensive-players-they-are-most-likely-not-selling-their-second?row-too-and-anyway-why-should-the-talents-leave-if-more-playing-time-is-likely' ... but it's another story if Cerny is 'blocked'

[not sure If I get the Arango-point - you think he wasn't tried 'right'?]
anyway, I‘m nearly as optimistic about Grifo as I was about Stindl
my only reservation: he might be injury-prone, not sure about that (another tiny reservation: he is advised by Struuunz)
and yes, speed definitely is one of his weaker points (and maybe like Kruse the main reason why Borussia was able to sign him)
like Lucky I‘m a little bit disturbed about what the club‘s is up to in midfield… Benes might become a starter but you can‘t plan like this (Cuisance & Cassama -if he signs at all- are still ‚youth‘-players) so you definitely need a Dahoud-replacement… and first I thought Grifo is exactly that… but he often played in left midfield (and seems to have a ‚tendency‘ to move to the left even if playing in central midfield: because of his gifted foot I guess) and given his freekicks and speed one might see him as an Arango-double (as long as our ‚system‘ doesn‘t require a hard-running player on this position)… on the other hand what‘s about Nico Schulz, Herrmann etc. and overall my LM-favorite Johnson? (I hope Hecking doesn‘t see him as a RB, I don‘t think Fabian is a good one)... definitely too much options at the flanks right now!
anyway we miss effectiveness in offense and Grifos kicks and passing are exactly that: effective!
I‘m really not a statistics buff but whoscored f.e. has him ranked fourth on key passes (the final pass leading to a shot at goal from a teammate) in Bundesliga https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/8...PlayerStatistics/Germany-Bundesliga-2016-2017
for me Grifo is a signing like Vestergaard or Stindl: they surely aren‘t flawless but they are fitting the club‘s strategy in an almost perfect way… realistically speaking: as for established (and easy to integrate) players they are as good as it gets for a club like Borussia
still wondering who is gonna score if Grifo passes...

"Alledgedly"-note the quotes- West Ham United are sending one of their young prospects to BMG on a year long loan for seasoning. I know the name: Reece Oxford-and that he is considered somewhat of a rising star in the English ranks.....but I have no clue as to where he plays or the prospective costs.

I knew for sure you would comment on that ;-)))
it turns out they found him! in Munich!
    at the Hoenesses!
worked for the wrong Borussia and DFB, too
    his name is Schlumberger
    they call him 'superdoc'

it turns out the #1 from above is leaving: Korb to H96!
mixed feelings (because he more or less grew up at Borussia)... but yes, in the end neither Schubert nor Hecking seemed to have use for him... and yes the squad definitely needs to be reduced

ex-Ghanaian international Otto Addo (a child of Bundesliga) is the new special coach for the youngsters (not exactly sure what's his job but why not?)

    Stindl
got his first assist for the Jogi-crew; he faced Veste and Christensen; ex-Borusse Younes (still not sure about him), got some minutes, too

amen- but not simply reduced........pruned of the permanently broken. Just a feeling, but a large measure of last season's failure could be attributed to never being completely sure who was going to be fit enough to play week to week. Club needs to bite the bullet and make the tough call on who will recover.....and who is chronic.

There are players in recovery worth the gamble, and others who have to go to allow the staff the flexibility to both modify the approach and strengthen where appropriate. The burden should lessen w/o Europe, and the focus should be on a top level finish in the league, not what percentage of the squad is on the trainer's table today..................

without going too far we surely can call this more than 'just a feeling' ;-)

medical check is Zakaria's final hurdle

The Zakaria signing is exciting; hopefully Bertrand Traore and a starting RB are next

a 2nd Traoré? media say we made a bid... hard to believe, theoretically he is way out of our price range... practically? I don't know... maybe a huge transfer fee for Hahn would help... but there are no bids so far according to Eberl... didn't watch Traoré enough... not sure if he's the target striker we need... (is it Jovetic? I don't know either... definitely on a downswing and maybe affordable but Eberl usually is looking for players on an upswing... and still too expensive I guess given the fact [?] we apparently are looking for an 'addition' not a starter)
anyway: L'Equipe thinks Traoré most likely is signing for Lyon

I still don't understand the Benes-Sow-Cuisance-Cassamá-talent-accumulation in central midfield (there are rumors about another portuguese off. midfielder!)... talents are fine... as long as we can offer decent playing time...
ok, Cassamá isn't confirmed yet (he's telling everybody he is joining Borussia though) and Sow might leave on loan to YB Bern...

I guess Borussia never called and he got frustrated!
funny guy at least! “Oh. I didn’t know that. I’m not from here, I’m from Canada.”
    @ Lucky & Rosebud

I really don't know why you provide us with all those players with heavy driving problems? ;-))) Max is checking their personal background more thoroughly, I'm sure! ok, they could, admittedly, start a renaissance of public transport's image... that wouldn't be such a bad scenario...

Hey, I've driven the wrong way before and didn't have a drop!:coffee:

Of course, I didn't blow .179 & .182 though. We had a player on our local club get busted for it and get acquitted and he still had to go through league protocols before he was ever allowed back on the field! Cost him games + money.

Cyle likely can't wait to get out of town now............
