GOAL! For St. Pauli in the 88th minute. Hamburg down 1-0 before Wood comes close to getting a touch. FWIW, Leon Flach didn't make the St Pauli bench.
Wood gets a touch as he takes the kickoff. Then makes a steals with his next two plays, but in each case they don't keep possession.
Stupid battle of yellow cards breaks out, and now a VAR review for a red card, all over a delay related to a throw-in. Chance Leibold will see red for Hamburg. Wood was 50 yards away, arriving very late as a peacemaker. And he does see red, so Hamburg down a man and a goal for stoppage time.
Full time. Bobby actually very effective in the tiny number of times he was involved in play - 100% passing with two steals, but a disastrous stretch for Hamburg threatening their promotion prospects, and a derby loss, to boot.
Good for Furth then. I do think though that if the 1BL bosses have any say in the matter, they’d rather see HsV back up than Furth.
Funny thing is, with 1 goal and 1 assist in only 145 league minutes played this season, Bobby is having his most productive season (in G/A per minute) so far.
the Hamburglers won this 2-0. Bobby DNP. Got an early goal, Bochum went down to 10 before HT and Narey added one at ET. HSV still vulnerable to Holstein and Furth, tho Furth would need a blow out to make up GD.
It seems undeniable to me that if you start Bobby Wood, then you'll win and jump to 1st in the table.
They have been up around there the last 2 years and pissed it, so let's see if history repeats itself
On form and points Holstein is the team to worry about. But it's still a pretty good horse (or cow) race... Any of the top 4 still have a very realistic shot.
