Considering the players we have, we are built to sit back and strike on the counter. I'm not talking just our defenders, the team as a whole is built this way.

Amorim will find it near impossible to play the way he wants. He must be more pragmatic.

In any case, our main issue is scoring goals. We look like morons for signing Zirkzee. Looks like Shaw and Malacia are back. So signing a good CF this Jan is now are only imperative. Can we sell anyone to make it happen? Osimhen would be amazing and I think Napoli would gladly grab a few more Scotty types who I think would excel in Serie A much like Scotty has.

So when can we start analyzing who fits this system and who doesn't?

Casemiro at CB yesterday was not a good sign for him either.

I thought he looked fine. Mount still doesn't look that guy. Maz looks like that Guy.

    From the matchday thread.

Players that will thrive in this system
    Maz
    Dalot
    Ugarte (duh)
    Bruno (duh)
    Hojlund
    Amad

I'm not so sure Bruno will thrive myself.

Will he play loads, of course.

But, he's got loads of miles in those legs and this is a demanding system physically. He's also got heaps of direct competition, from young and hungry players.

I can't put my finger on it, but I don't feel it's a slam dunk that he thrives.

I think what we will see is forced load sharing. EtH was a poor at rotating. I can Nacho and Rash sharing one wing while Bruno and Mount work the other wing. Maybe Bruno comes to play the MF at times like yesterday but there maybe games we go into with Bruno on the bench and one of the other guys is gonna have to step up.

I could be wrong, but there were several plays Casemiro let the team down.

One in particlar, the opponent had the ball on our left wing, Casemiro saw the attacker, but started ball watching and left him open for a header which Onana saved. Its just one play, but its more evidence from last season that he's not suited to the role.

Before PSG he played at Sporting for Amorim so he probably has the most understanding of the system and his role.

I think Amorim will probably like Mazraoui the most partly bc he has been one of our best players this season but also bc like Amorim himself he can play almost every outfield position.

Some positives for sure in today's game but some issues too. Many teams other than Everton score a few against us today as we still make quite a lot of mistakes as we are getting used to shape and rotations etc.

So the Arsenal game will be tough at this stage of our development I think. Flip side we at least seem to carry a bit more threat now and we have some strikers in some form and Amad and Bruno getting a couple of assists each this game too.

I like how he isn’t hesitant to make a decision. Around the 25th to 30th min area of the Everton game he was getting visibly frustrated with how United were playing and called Mount and Garnacho to warm up.

looked like he may have been prepared to make a first half substitution had things not changed.

I wanted to give EtH some credit but I'm now sitting here I'm looking at Amorim drop Garnacho and Rashford and given Amad more playing time and the team is looking better so you have to wonder about EtH's ability to assess talent and just how good he was when it came to laying down the law or did he just not trust certain players regardless. The might be room for Sancho's return now based on what I've seen

Given Chelsea’s league position I don’t think Sancho will be coming back, the purchase is an obligation

Fine with me. Take the money and put it toward a LWB/LW. We lack balance on that side.

Sorry, I also should have clarified. It’s an obligation if they finish 14th or higher.

In addition to finding who is leaking, Luckhurst needs to be banned from press conferences for publishing team news the day before.

    https://www.givemesport.com/manchester-united-alejandro-garnacho-amad-diallo-leaks/

Supposedly club is satisfied is not Garnacho or Amad directly but suspicions around Garnacho brother and players agents etc. Maybe Roberto - Garnacho brother again hence why he was dropped?

Some rumours Rash / Garnacho stuff was “partying” though not clear which (think we know which most likely given history). Supposedly common knowledge in Manchester.

Anywho, ban Luckhurst and send a message.
